Regardless of what happened in SD (and throwing 45-50 pitches over two days is a lot more common than throwing 45-50 in one game), the team seems to have used him a lot more recklessly than they have used relievers that they're more invested in. When he's thrown 46 and 47 pitches in a game and none of Cecil, McGowan, Delabar, Janssen, or Santos have thrown more than 31, it looks bad. Especially when his arm blows out and he gets released.
