Anything is possible. It's a lot more likely that he's a league average bat with below-average defense at 3B. Guy was 14% above-average offensively in 2012 and 2013, and you have to expect he's lost some bat speed since.

A lot of those guys have seen their value plummet. Lindor can't hit, Sanchez looks like a reliever, Cingrani is awful, Alfaro has had K/BB issues, Bradley had a bad year etc... In a league with no salaries, I'll take the established major league talent every time over the big prospect.

I don't see it. He just doesn't seem to grasp the things that a GM needs to understand to be successful. I don't think he really knows what a given player contributes to a team. Ask him to throw out ballpark projected win value for Russell Martin in 2015, or what Dioner Navarro actually contribues and he probably has no idea.

The sad thing is, you almost have to hope that Pillar doesn't have a good September, because this FO has shown that there's a very real chance he lands the full-time LF job next year if he BABIPs his way to a nice September slash line.
