  1. For the people complaining about JJ earlier: (from rotoinfo I think)
  2. Apparently 20 innings last night wasn't enough for the Mets and Marlins
  3. I agree, that was terrible. I hope someone burns the video before Lawrie sees it.
  4. McGowan's stuff isn't anywhere close to being as lively as it was yesterday. Not surprising, but noteworthy.
  5. That's exactly what they should have done. The last pitch or two away you could see him timing it and trying to drive it in that direction. Come in and it jambs him. Stay out there and you play with fire.
  6. That had nothing to do with being overused. He put the ball exactly where they wanted it, it was simply a bad choice of pitch.
  7. Poor cameraman. Every time they show the kid with the catcher's mask he either turns away or someone accidentally stands in front of him.
  8. Gotta give props to Boni on that one, great play.
  9. Grimm kind of reminds me of Drabek. Filthy stuff, but can't command it well yet. Can make batters look ridiculous for an inning, then get hit all over the park the next one.
  10. Thanks for posting that. Really interesting read.
  11. Walked the first batter, then second hit a DP ball to DeRosa who clanked it failing to get an out anywhere. 3rd batter was hbp (earned it too in the ribs with the high heat). Struck out the 4th, I believe on a 98mph fastball. I'm guessing he was relieved to keep his pitch count down first time back. Following batter hit a line drive to Bautista who completed the DP at the plate. McGowan's stuff looked great, but he was a little wild. Fantastic life on his pitches.
  12. Lots of guys like that drafted in the later rounds who won't sign. One thing it does do is allow the Jays some time to talk with him and his family and learn more about them. Maybe that information helps them in a few years and they decide to draft (or not draft) him again.
  13. Got it, should have read it a little more carefully.
  14. The number required is difficult to say. Assuming a 2 wildcard format, and the AL: 2012: 93 wins 2011: 90 wins 2010: 89 wins 2009: 87 wins 2008: 89 wins 2007: 88 wins 2006: 90 wins 2005: 93 wins 2004: 91 wins 2003: 93 wins
  15. Tough loss for Marcum if it holds. 1 run in 8 innings out of relief.
  16. Huge win, and the sweep tomorrow would be massive! In other news, the Marlins-Mets game is going into the 17th now
  17. I don't think you chance it with one of your stars. Thole would probably make the most sense.
  18. Dickey would be most likely guy to come from the pen. Rogers may be available too, but I can't see anyone else being used.
  19. Schwimer might make sense too. He's going to have to be removed from the 40 man at some point this year anyhow in all liklihood.
  20. Why on earth were they checking the runner like that on a tailor made dp?
  21. With JPA's popularity in free-fall right now, you just know he's gonna hit one out this inning.
  22. What the hell are you getting at? McGowan didn't give up a run, so how would this game be over now? Janssen gave up the runs in the 9th.
  23. More interesting might be what the call would be if it had hit him ...
  24. This sounds like a great pick! Hopefully we can actually sign him.
