  1. Poor Bauer there. That ball probably should have been a double play. No outs on the play AND he gets his foot stomped on while reaching for the ball. At least he's throwing strikes.
  2. Going to be cheering for the Tribe for sure. Hard to see a patient Yankees team losing to a pitcher that makes this year's Romero look like a control expert though.
  3. He looked kind of hittable, but he did a fantastic job staying down in the zone and painting the corners. He didn't have his good (for him) fastball, but hopefully that will improve as he gets a few more starts. Who knew the key to pitching well against the Red Sox was to throw junkballers out there? Btw, didn't it posted anywhere, but apparently Melky is having a lot of hamstring issues right now. He's playing through it, but it likely explains his bat as well as why he's looked so slow in the field.
  4. Both teams getting fantastic starts. Worse thing in the world is to have to go to the pen early in the first game of a double header. I'd kind of like to see this game get tied up and go deep into extras though (as long as the tribe win), tucker out the Yanks pen really good.
  5. Interesting, ump didn't seem to happy with something at the end there, was talking to Gibbons. Wonder what that was about.
  6. Valverde with a blown save
  7. Nice to see a team other than us have a brain fart on the base paths.
  8. I can't even think of the last time I saw a player choke up on the bat as far as Kawasaki did there. No reason to sit him vs lefties with the patience he has.
  9. I think he averaged almost 91 last year when he came up, although 89-90 is probably more reasonable for him. He IS just coming off the dl, with only one start this year before this one.
  10. It seems that sinker-ballers can get away with low k rates a little easier (just ask Lowe). With that said, Jenkins doesn't have the break on his sinker (at least so far this year) that Lowe did. I suspect Jenkins role will eventually be as a long man / spot starter.
  11. I don't see how that's possible, considering he has walked in 4 of his last 5 games.
  12. That last replay angle from the BP was awesome! Good to see Victorino is okay.
  13. Vernon with another home run.
  14. Interesting that JP has gotten to a 3-2 count in 1/7 of his at-bats this year (19 total times I believe). If he walked in half of those, his overall walk rate and obp would actually be pretty good.
  15. He's had one start coming off an injury (shoulder?). I'm willing to give him a pass on the velocity for a few games.
  16. There's a little resize thing in the bottom right hand corner of the quick reply box, try dragging it smaller and see if it fixes it.
  17. Some of it is clearly mental, however it seemed like his velocity was also down this year. THAT could be a product of the knee problems, and could be causing him to over-compensate with the arm and lose command.
  18. Verlander having a very unusual outing. 2 innings, 3 runs, 4 walks, 60 pitches.
  19. I really dislike coaching staffs doing that. Pitch outs, pickoffs, etc are fine, but not pitch selection.
  20. None that I've seen, and his arm looks normal and clean. He's still going to his wet hair though.
  21. Small ball ftw! Regardless of what happened, I don't mind the Kawasaki bunt there. It took a perfect play to get him.
  22. It's interesting that we really haven't seen starters go on the program. I also wonder what the long term effects of the different weights on the arm might be. It might make the arm stronger, or it might lead to more injuries. Still, considering the injury issues we've had I'm not sure there's much to lose, but definitely a lot to gain.
