  1. Many don't seem to have the plate blocking skills (or they don't want to get run into). Pitch framing seems to be hit or miss, but may have more to do with the pitching staff's command which could explain why many catchers aren't good at it when they first come up.
  2. The blocks were legit, and his pitch framing seems to be visibly better after he had a day or two with the Jays roving catcher instructor. They need to get that instructor back up here for a good 2 weeks working with him every day.
  3. I have got to start benching Tazawa when he faces the Jays.
  4. Rogers is 7th in the AL this year in fastball velocity as a starter (non-qualified obviously). That's higher than Verlander (not that velocity means a ton).
  5. We saw Butter have us run into outs for years. He's an outstanding infield coach, but probably shouldn't be the 3rd base coach.
  6. Gotta give JPA some credit hanging in on that one. Great job all around.
  7. The board should have a youtube contest for the most creative way to destroy a JPA bobblehead.
  8. Reading through this thread you'd think we were losing 10-0 or something ...
  9. That game is a pitcher's nightmare. 14-10 now
  10. Not dealing with a million dog aliases is a pretty big change. I'd like to see the mods be a little more aggressive with banning people who contribute nothing but complaints though. They don't bring anything other than squabbles to the board.
  11. One thing I do like about playing in Fenway is that center field camera angle. Pretty much directly at the plate, and easy to see if the ball hits the corners.
  12. Looked like Davis was limping slightly out there at second, and was slow getting up after the steal. Hope he didn't tweak something too.
  13. I think it's something like anything negative that happens is charged to the starter, anything positive to the reliever.
  14. Lester leaves the game with a brain cramp. Consider him hour-to-hour.
  15. Interestingly Kawasaki is playing 2nd tonight, so part of the trip to the minors might have been to get him a bunch of games there (kind of unfair to just throw him there when he's only had 4 starts at 2nd in his pro career). I can still see Melky (especially with how he's moving tonight) hit the DL when Lawrie is activated.
