  1. A bunch more complaints about the ball this postseason: http://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/84288/is-the-ball-hurting-pitcher-performance-in-the-world-series
  2. They can just trade him to the Rangers. He'd fit in quite well on that team!
  3. Well it would only be to handle the login side of things, it doesn't have to attach any actual social media functionality. It's not like anyone on the forum would have to see or do anything different than they do now. I don't know for sure if it would help or not, but a lot of sites are doing it so there must be some good reasons.
  4. Approval process probably isn't necessary, but a 24 hour period between when you sign up and can make posts would allow admins to weed out a lot of the spam accounts. Requiring logging in with a social media account (like a lot of sites now require) would likely be a good alternative.
  5. It's always been dramatically less active during the offseason. The only real issues though are the news threads and spam accounts imo.
  6. What a horrific first quarter. It's the Lakers ffs.
  7. Girardi probably isn't any better than Gibby, and may be worse. Gibby seems to be fine anyway. A manager really needs to just be good at being a people person (holding the respect of the media and the clubhouse), which Gibby is, and listen to the front office, which he seems to do.
  8. There's been a lot of wide open misses tonight. Still really happy with how we've played overall.
  9. Yeah, of all the games for JV to miss, this was about the worst possible. Poeltl is playing great though!
  10. Loving this high tempo game the Raps are playing. Both teams playing really, really hard right now.
  11. A lot of Heyward's value was tied up in his legs. It was very unlikely to ever end well (which I said at the time). Harper shouldn't have those same issues.
  12. This second unit is looking fantastic again.
  13. The ultimate rookie mistake:
  14. Dodgers should almost pull Kershaw after another inning or two, and have him open up the next series.
  15. No kidding. They got absolutely shredded by the Raps second unit.
  16. Luckily for me I had traded the pick. Makes me feel a little better about it, although I like happy trade partners too I'm very happy to have the top waiver pick.
  17. WTF was that bullpen dance by the Cubs?
  18. Seems weird on that kind of hit on the line in the playoffs not to have the ump who is standing and looking right at it make the call, rather than the one who has to turn around, dodge the ball, and look. The got it right regardless, just seems like not the best idea.
  19. Reyes + Bader with us picking up most of his salary. Then resign him after next season
  20. Seems kinda silly to pull Darvish there.
  21. I'm guessing because Schwarber can really only play LF, and Happ probably doesn't have the arm for RF. I think Heyward in CF would be smarter too, but I suspect that's the reasoning.
  22. Darvish playing head games with Edwards Jr.
  23. Yeah, not resetting the luxury tax AND taking on Stanton's contract would make it really, really expensive for them.
  24. Most players are supposedly put on revocable waivers, and you hear of very few decent ones that clear them unless they have stupid salaries. I don't think it's at all clear that the reasoning is as you suggest. It's also not clear that Stanton will provide surplus value on what's left of his contract, even if he stays pretty healthy. Obviously we'll see when he's eventually traded, but I'd be surprised to see a noteworthy return unless they eat money.
