  1. With some of the recent success of these guys, how come there seems to be such little interest and low bids? $13M bid wins it? Plus salary, even if he flops, how is that a fantastic gamble?
  2. Reds won the bid. They already have a deal set up with the Jays and Votto.
  3. Me either, seems a bit silly. I'll take Estrada 3/$30 or close to it instead of that. I could see Shark getting around $75M. Think that's a decent price for him.
  4. Just gotta watch that subreddit, they can be babies. The blog is different, but I've noticed they've deleted any links that reference the forum.
  5. ANd yours was 1-1.5 so we'll meet in middle.
  6. On. Name the price. I'll do 1.7WAR if that makes it more fair. That's averaged over 600PAs, and a minimum of 250. Okay?
  7. You're so confident he's terrible, then there should be no way he'll get 1.5WAR. Right?
  8. Take my bet. Whether banned or not by end of the season you have to pay though lol.
  9. I'll take it there. I'll take any bets that averaged over 600 plate appearances it will be greater than 1.5WAR.
  10. I think I speak for about 95% of the board, your s*** is getting really tiring. I don't think there's a single thread on this forum without your cancerous infestation. You've had probably the longest leash in the history of internet message boards, and there isn't much more to give.
  11. Maybe I'm reaching, but could the Vlad Jr deal have something to do with Shapiro/AA issues? I didn't see it, but someone mentioned in a post that out of no where AA kept bringing up Vlad Jr in one of his interviews on how much he liked Vlad Jr and how he's going to be an MLB player one day. I found that kinda odd. Maybe he was subtly defending the signing.
  12. For some reason I think that's exactly what's going to happen. Dump Tulo's contract and hope for 2-2.5WAR from Goins.
  13. Never thought that much into it lol. But from Shapiro's perspective, I could see him trying to get rid of that.
  14. Wouldn't surprise me to see Tulo moved.
  15. Of course the players like Gibbons. Players like GIbbons because he's care free and doesn't give a s***. He lets them do what they want. It's like the teacher in school that was 'care free' and 'cool'. Were they the best teacher? Probably not.
  16. Then they looked at your gambling success.
  17. Everyone take it to twitter. Let's gets this rumor some legs!
  18. Maybe Shaprio wanted to get rid of Gibbons and AA was going to stand behind him and didn't like the way it was going so said he wouldn't do it.
  19. I wonder how this comes up to AA though? Like does Shapiro say, "So from here on on out, I'm making the moves." Be curious to how it all started and what it expanded to before AA said f*** this I'm out.
  20. You should be a f***ing detective.
  21. That would be the greatest moment in baseball history if he announced that.
  22. This call is just going to lead to more confusion and speculation.
  23. Too early to tell if it's successful, but the fact we acquired more top 200 'prospects' compared to other teams, I would say that's a success.
  24. I was say for sure. First he raped the system when it was first in place by signing a ton of low dollar guys to make space. It was brilliant. It's too early to judge the last couple years.
  25. Wasn't it LaCava years ago that said he didn't want to be GM, that he liked his role and didn't want to change?
