  1. Pat Tabler, "The only way he's going to be out is if when he swiped him, he tagged him. If he didn't tag him, he's safe." Thanks Pat.
  2. Gibbons will keep throwing Colabello out there until someone else takes action.
  3. He pinched hit 4 games ago for one atbat. Are you gonna go off on how hard it is to prepare to pinch hit and it takes a lot of you, comparable to a complete game? He's started 12 of 16 f***ing games to start the season. You're making it sound as if a catcher never comes in mid game because he can't warm up... I'd love to see the stats on pulled muscles from catchers coming in mid game....
  4. I'm new here, thanks for the lesson.
  5. Thole wanted a nice easy breaking ball down the middle, anything outside and above 80mph he'll have trouble with.
  6. We'rea month into the damn season, he doesn't need a f***ing day off. And I'll take a cold Martin with a broken arm over Thole. It's not hard to prepare to come into the game when you know you're coming in when Dickey is coming out. Stop looking for reasons, you're wrong. Gibbons is a terrible manager, period.
  7. That one strike was a hanging breaking ball.
  8. Jones hitting .222 before this game. Machado .392.
  9. You're right, wasn't as good as I thought. I think what I meant more so were his L/R splits, from when I remember following him. And his amazingly low hit rates. Look at his 2012-2013 combined, including fallball, 200IP, 148 hits, that's pretty impressive. Versus lefties in 2012, 46IP 15H 57K. The potential is/was obviously always there.
  10. I've always like Sanchez, though I admit I'm a bit of a homer, but I've always had faith in him. He had some absolutely dominating minor league stats, but had issues with control. I know some of his major league stats say otherwise, but I think he's going to be a very good pitcher.
  11. bad quotes too lazy to hit delete button
  12. I get what your'e saying, and you ignored everything I said. A pitcher with three years success in his career and 38 years old. I don't give a s*** about the spike in his stats. He's a 38 year old knuckleballer that you gave two blue chip prospects up for. A somewhat controlable ace shouldn't cost much more than that. And again, looks like I (and others) was right. It's not like I made some crazy prediction that he wouldn't be that good, there was evidence backing it.
  13. " Martin is the worst pitch framer I've ever seen. Maybe he's having an off night because he's always had a good defensive reputation. "
  14. How can you say I underestimating anything, when it turns out I was right. How can you compare Happ, a free agent signing for the back end of the rotation vs giving up two blue chip prospects for an 'ace'?
  15. Exactly. I even remember BTS trolling the Mets forum when it was rumored JPA for him straight up and Mets had these wild ideas of getting a lot more. Boy did we look stupid. I didn't think Synd would be this good, but we still gave up two blue chip prospects with the potential to be this good. On top of that there was a very good chance Dickey wouldn't repeat his two amazing years in NY. It was not a good trade at the time. I disagree. But the point was it was a big gamble betting Dickey would keep doing what he was doing at that age. There were too many red flags that AA should have found another trade partner for his two blue chip prospects. 1. He was in his late 30s. 2. He's a knuckleballer, though not a huge red flag. 3. He only had success for a few years. It's not like it was some veteran pitcher with 15 years experience.
  16. I'll never let it go. At no time did I think, "This is a good move." Or "This it'll be worth it for a playoff run." An absolute terrible trade from day one and I called it. Guy was 39 or whatever it was at the time. People's defense was that knuckleballers can pitch longer.
  17. DJ Bluray still posting there?
  18. I don't really care too much. If I can cover server costs, I'm happy. I might test out Amazon too. #2 is honestly too much work to make an extra $50 or whatever it may be. If it was more money I'd consider it. Probably contacting local businesses would be the best best and rotate the banner. I might get around to that one day. Thanks for the advice though.
  19. He played over his head last year, I don't know how he kept it up the whole year. Time for him to GTFO. Unfotunately Gibbons will keep running him out there waiting for him to 'turn it around'. Maybe he'll move him to leadoff, seems like something he'd do.
  20. Just seeing who is interested then with help from mods/vets I will decide.
  21. If there was any intentions of doing it for the money I would have put ads up long ago. As I mentioned in my last post I pay almost $100/month in server costs. I think we've been up for three years now. That's $3000 in costs. I have a couple other sites on this server so it's not a big deal, but this site takes up 95% of the resources. This site uses several gigs of bandwidth a day. My other sites combined don't use that in a month. Probably $50-$100 is my guess. I'm trying to keep it simple, and just playing around a bit. I have adblocker on FF but on Chrome I don't, and when I visit sites on there, ads all over the place drive me insane. So I don't want that. There's not much money in it. People don't really click ads anymore, and there's not a ton of relevant businesses/ads that people will click.
