Not true. This is realistic Brownie.  We have like a 5% chance.  1 out of 20 times we make some magical run.  I'm just playing the odds man.  We have Lee and Little pitching in leverage, Vlad has like 3 HRs this year and ever other game we lose a starting pitcher to injury.  It's over man.

Bump that up to 6% and lets party baby!!

We don't appreciate Giminez enough

100%  It's hilarious that Gimenez leads the team in WAR, yet is one of the first players that people suggest we need to replace.  I get the concerns about his contract - I do.  But at least he has a high floor.  The elite defense and good base running at a premium position remains valuable, even if the bat stinks.  It could be a lot worse.

That's not a thing

I disagree.  I mean you can't be a "true" fan of 2 teams that compete in the same division, but you can certainly like 2 teams in the same division.  I have no concerns cheering for TB or Boston once the Jays are out of it.  I do feel a little greasy doing it - but I find teams entertaining based on the mixture of the players (often new young players who are ascending to superstardom, or old vets who turn back the clock).  Sometimes that's on a team in our division.

Jays are just playing really good baseball lately. Even in Philly they battled worked counts and did the little things right. Even when there behind they keep grinding out AB's and finding ways too hang around. Just really clean solid baseball and they dont seem to get rattled. Been alot of fun to watch.

I was mostly joking but really, not me. The only time I would cheer for an AL East team is if they were playing the Yankees in a playoff series and then I would immediately cheer for their next opponent to sweep that team. Appreciate players on their teams or their style of play, sure but if the Jays are out I'm picking an NL team to root for. I am a petty man.

The interview Bateman did was amazing.  Won't be hard to root for this guy.

I always liked adding young late in season or even season in general. Yesavage last year be an example.

They bring enthusiasm to a long season. Scouting reports are less on them helps also.

Defense is always underappreciated by fans, until it's gone

But at least he has a high floor.

Having already put up a 6 WAR season he also has a previously established high ceiling.

I think his batted ball data and expected hitting data all really suck, like insane suck this year.  However some guys are successful with low bat speed and relatively low exit velocity so he could be one adjustment away from improving or re-finding himself.  Only 27.

Would not expect him to repeat 2022, but could see a .260 .310 .400 season happen and he's probably a 5 WAR player with that.
