Time to give the Pete Walker the axe. Terrible performance from the pitching this Season across the board

How about Dylan Cease, Spencer Miles, Louis Varland, Tyler Rogers, and even Jeff Hoffman's bounce back?

Can't blame Walker for Bieber sucking and not being 100%, or Yesavage who yes has had some growing pains as you expect from any young starter.

Gausman had a rough stretch there for a bit but seems to have come out of it.

This is simply not true, it's been the offense that's been terrible, fella.

Pitching is 9th overall... Batting 25th <--- that is the problem.

Offense has been terrible but the rotation has horrendously underperformed. Also I’m just sick of his face

If you want to give him credit for those guys. You have to criticize him for Yesavage, And everyone else who has under performed this Season outside of the guys you mentioned.

Obviously Cease and Varland have been elite. Cease biggest adjustment was his head turn that he experimented with himself. Not something Pete Walker told him to do.

We should go get this guy... he'd eat up some innings.

Yeah if he wasn’t such a sorry prick doosh. Although i guess I can’t fault him for wanting to be on a better team.

How exactly is Yesavage underperforming. He’s having a perfectly decent rookie year coming off an injury. Dude still has less than 100 innings

It's all relative to expectations. He set a high bar for himself in the postseason.

He's certainly not having a bad season overall, but I think the occasional staggering control issues and strikeout rate are a bit below expectations.

Well you're blaming him for guys like Bieber who has been on the IL for majority of the season and Scherzer who pretty much we already knew is toast. Gausman had his struggles in June but he's turned things around from the looks of it.

Yesavage hasn't really under performed. He's had some awful outings where he has lost control - BB/9 is an area he has to work on if he wants to take the next step. Occasional struggles come with any young starter. Expectations from the Postseason set the bar really high and I even admit expected Yesavage to pitch like a Paul Skenes right out of the gate, but those were unfair expectations and his minor league track record never suggested that.

Definitely.  The starters could have been better but the biggeat problem has been the offense.

No Barger no Santander

Massively underperforming remaining lineup core save Okamoto.

There was a very brief but fleeting moment last night where I thought that Brendon Little might have saved our season

Would have been amazing to win that game

But Bieber dug the hole too deep to early

Sure, but if you look at his minor league starts last season you'd notice that he had quite a few starts where control was an issue:

2025-05-20: 3 BB in 4.0 IP

2025-05-25: 3 BB in 4.0 IP

2025-05-31: 4 BB in 4.1 IP

2025-06-12: 4 BB in 4.0 IP

2025-06-18: 3 BB in 2.2 IP

2025-08-14: 4 BB in 1.2 IP

He came up hot out of the gate and hitters clearly had no idea what they were seeing, but pretending like he was some finished product who was going to pitch like a #1 based off of 3 regular season starts and a few playoff appearances was a foolish expectation.

He clearly still has work to do and the league was always going to adjust to him as well. He just turned 23 yesterday. Pretending like Peter Walker deserves blame for him having some struggles this season is beyond absurd.
