The blame lies somewhere so you tell me what you think the team should be doing? I simply responded saying I agree that JS shouldn't bare all of the blame as theres enough to go around. Players, coaches, management all deserve blame for not meeting expectations for 3 out of the past 4 seasons. jaysblue 1

I agree that there isn't any one person or group I'd blame for this team's offensive failures. The team just doesn't appear as well prepared to face the opposition starter this season so something appears to have gone awry in the game planning department. A lot of it is bad injury luck with Santander and Barger essentially missing the entire season due to injury and Kirk missing several months with the broken thumb. Add in a miserable season from Vlad, a really slow start from Springer and Varsho taking a bit of a step back at the plate and that largely explains the struggling offense. I do think there's a ton of potential internal improvement available to this group much as was the case from 2024 leading into 2025 if the likes of Barger, Kirk, Vlad and Santander are able to improve their offensive contributions. The team will need to add more bats in the offseason and there will be plenty of openings that need to be filled so hopefully the front office has another solid off season. Jays24 and jaysblue 2

I really hope you spend the rest of the season spamming all threads with your belief that everyone in this organization is trash and should be fired - which I'm sure will continue throughout the offseason and beyond until each and every one of them are fired. Then you'll just repeat the cycle with the next group. It doesn't matter what anyone does, they will never meet your expectations. Stangstag 1

The objective of the game is to win it all and last I checked, this franchise hasnt won since 1993. If guys like Nick Nurse/Masai can be fired after winning a damn championship in 2019 then you can bet your ass this management can be let go. The fact you have such an attachment to them even when durijg times they produce mediocre results is the more concerning part lol Smokinitup420 1
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Since completing the rebuild in 2021 the Jays have the 7th most wins in MLB, 4 playoff appearances (despite being in the toughest division) and were up 3 games to 2 in a World Series. That's not "mediocre". 20+ MLB teams wish they were that mediocre. Pinkfloid 1

I think your expectations are far too high. I fully understand that teams have to move on from GMs and Managers at some point. I'm actually perfectly fine if the Jays moved on from Atkins and Schneider. But I also know the grass isn't always greener on the other side. There are just so many factors into the teams success - and to climb through the playoffs to win a championship. Such is outside of their control that I think it's unfair to hone in on the GM, managers and/or coaches as the reason for failure. IMO, the team has been very successful since 2020. This is one of the best runs in team history - yet you've been b*thing and complaining about everything to no end since they were hired. It's nauseating. To be honest - last year was even more fun since we got to witness you and your few brothers eat a massive slice or humble pie. If we won the championship last year, would you still be calling to fire everyone after this awful season? You think 1 run in Game 7 should make that much of a difference? Eat My Shatkins 1

He's one of those fans that, from his armchair, knows more than the team president, GM, entire front office, coaching staff, medical teams and doctors. And as long as they haven't officially won a world series they're basically no better ran than the Rockies or Angels. Everything single thing they do needs to be questioned or else youre just sheep. We have been trying to win a damn world series, not just scrape by to get into the wild card with results like those. - The 2023 team was painful to watch as we struggled to score runs to be a serious contender. Everyone expected exactly the way our season ended by losing 2 games by scoring like 1 run. - 2024 was a pathetic year in general where we had to sell at the deadline and guys like Vladdy turned it up when the Jays were well out of it. - 2025 started off slow until the Bichette HR and the rest was magical. -2026 entire season has been a slog. Only you would consider the results from our offense a success when we are in our "winning years" with a top 5 payroll. Improve your damn standards man lol. Smokinitup420 Verified Member Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I don’t know why you’re so hard on him, if you use your eyes instead of just looking at what they should be on paper you all would see that there is something wrong in this clubhouse, you can see it on the players faces, just because the paper says you should be good if put in this spot doesn’t mean you are going to be , and that’s on JS to be a manager and look beyond the numbers and watch the game and watch his players, they’re sluggish playing this year which I guess is understandable with their first real run into the postseason but JS and company have given up many games by not knowing the situation, not putting people in the right situation and just looking all around stupid following numbers, do I think JS was the reason they went so far? Hell no I think he’s a s*** manager but I also think atkins is a s*** gm thinking every trash bin signing can be a superstar. But hounding on a jays fan here because they care about the team and hate the mediocrity is childish, atleast he cares to see something good not sit around and be okay with s*** gameplay, just my observation
Smokinitup420 Verified Member Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago And do I think with a manager who puts analytics and actual eye test into a game could this team be like last year? Hell yes , a manager does a lot more for a team than what you’re giving him credit for yes he don’t hit he don’t pitch but he chooses who to put in where, when to pull, what lineup to use, it all comes down to knowing your team and having the respect of your team, JS has neither

Okamoto pretty much has replaced Barger this season. They're pretty much similar offensively. Okamoto has been a great addition, but he's not and was never a replacement for a bat like Bichette, who when in top form was a 130 wRC+ and pretty much a 4 WAR player here.

Best offense with a lot of uncertainty, coz no one expected Springer to play like when he was at his prime. And guys like Kirk, Barger, Lukes, Heineman, Clement, Schneider, Varsho, they probably had the best season in their full career, so you can't bet on them to always repeat, and during the series against Dodgers, we all saw that the team was lacking offense. Alejandro Murphy Verified Member Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Very disappointing year losing Bo and Bargers bats changed everything and created a huge huge dent of the offense It is very difficult to recreate a dream season like last year when the stars aligned for the jays before game seven of the WS. Blame goes to Hoffman and IKF, no doubt about that. But we would still be talking about competing if not for the losses caused directly by Little and Hoffman. Heres to hoping that we can still turn this around. Tough climb for sure. Brownie19 1

I think if you are going to directly compare players offensive profiles Okamoto is closer to the 2025 version of Varsho as a high K/low average power bat. Both players are extremely streaky in nature and were massive difference makers when locked in with the bat. I can agree there was no direct replacement on the market for Bo as even Bo himself is mired in an awful season, but the main point being made was the team brought in another potent bat to add to a lineup that was losing Bichette and not looking to clone what Bo was able to bring. jaysblue 1

We weren’t exactly expecting to replace Barger. Okamoto is the Bo replacement (much cheaper and slightly lesser player) although he’s actually been better than Bo this year. Also getting more defensive WAR at SS by not having Bo there. jaysblue 1
