Such an easy guy to root for too

He's one of the more likable players I can recall ever playing for the Blue Jays in my 40 years of following the team.

It's like if Kevin Pillar could hit

Is Brandon Valenzuela the best hitter on the team?

Yes.

Should he DH over Springer sometimes if he's not catching?

If he continues to mash as he has for the last 5-6 weeks this could be an actual possibility along with occasional DH starts for Kirk as well. Springer has been hitting better in recent weeks with a 120'ish wRC+ but he's shown no signs of peak summer of George this season at any point.

And next year

Springer presumably gone (makes me sad but it's probably not smart to bring him back)

Kirk catches 2/3 of games

Valenzuela catches 1/3 and 1/3 DH

Heinemann stashed in AAA

Santander 2/3 DH and 1/3 COF with late inning defensive replacement

Heineman has been hopeless with the bat but there's bound to be a team that would claim him if placed on waivers. For instance Sandy Leon has been catching for the Braves with a bat worse bat than Heineman has displayed.

Kevin Pillar always had a bit of attitude though, Clement seems much more chill like a dude bro

He will most likely be claimed. But they have another Catcher on the 40-man roster in Willie MacIver who will be the next in line. But the thing about Heineman is he has been re-acquired twice before. So if they want him back a good chance they can bring him back.

Clement is getting 9 figures when he’s free agent

In no universe is Clement getting 100+ million dollars as a free agent as a light-hitting utility IF when hes 33.

what if they buy him out for 8 years for the rest of his career after this year?  There is a scenario where it does happen.  Clement is built for a good run into his 30s.

The COF spots will be crowded.

Sanchez, Barger, Lukes. Pinango. One too many if Varsho returns to CF and Santander DHs.

Never too late to make Straw a utility infielder I guess.😉

That would be mind-numbingly stupid.
