I was thinking about Valenzuela's growth as a player as well.  He's earned the backup spot when Kirk returns.

I'd keep Valanzuela up and get him some DH time or even see if he could cover first when vlad DHs. He has the best at bats on the team.

Maybe, but Kirk seems to be better when he plays a lot. I mean, come the stretch run you don't worry any more about the lack of playing time, but I think he has to go down when Kirk returns.
