Can someone explain why Sosa is starting the last 2 games at 2B? He's a career -5 OAA/-17 DRS at 2B and a career 74 wRC+ player against RHP (824 PA). No chance DS is a worse 2B than him. This is a team that likes defense, contact, and working the count, and then plays someone like Sosa who is good at none of those things. Odd.

Because Lukes and Straw can't hit, so if they want some offense then DS and LS need to both be in there

A season has ended in April.  A sad thing and true pain, far worse then post season pain is the pain of meaningful summer baseball that will never be.   At least people will learn to appreciate last year

Jays hit a series of 100+ mph groundballs, all for outs and no runs score

Jays lose

Vlad is making good hard contact and crazy low k rate so I guess can sort of survive like this... maybe

He is ...  Yandy Diaz??  His launch angle is 1.  His ground ball rate 55.  Those are crazy bad and if he hits .280 instead of .320 with that kind of ground ball rate he is worthless...

How are we still here after 8 years of this?  The playoffs last year were just like his 2018 in New Hampshire or the first 100 games of2021 a weird few weeks that showed his 99.99th percentile true talent level but disappeared in to the abyss to be replaced by our old friend, who we see so often, ground ball Vlad.

Launch angle -8, exit velocity 102 = VERY BAD

Launch angle -25, exit velocity 62 = Kind of works.

Didnt get to watch but it seems the offense got to offense again.  Looking like the 2024 version thus far... gotta turn it around soon!
