Borderline agent malpractice tbh

If the Jays are spending $250M+ on anyone, it will 100% be Kyle Tucker

No one giving Bo 300MM

There's a price point the Jays just won't pay even though they definitely want to retain him if possible b

Yeah as I said in the other thread, if that's actually his expectation, then I think he might be available for a 1+1 type of deal in February when no team comes close to that figure. No chance any team gives that to him as a SS, never mind as a 2B.

Bo wants 10/$300m
is projected for just 7/$189m

Tucker wants 10/$400m
is projected for just 8/$280m

Bellinger wants 8 years
is projected for just 5/$135m

These are very big gaps.

Bregman also has a high price tag, obviously. Probably 6 or 7 years.

I wonder what Framber and Ranger are looking for? Not a lot of smoke around them, all offseason.

Id laugh if Colorado offered any of these guys close to their asking price just to see the resulting decline.

They don't want a specific dollar figure only, they want that specific dollar figure from one of a very select group of teams.

"Phillies meeting with Bo Bichette on Monday" is a hilariously specific and meaningless leak

Probably just the Phillies trying to make Realmuto hurry up and take their offer

What's Bo's camp smoking, man? If true, of course.

I guess there's no harm in asking but it's easy to see why no teams have budged if this asking price is remotely true.

Basically what transpired with Vlad. Really wonder what his market would’ve looked like right now. Surely not over $400million MAX?

That's a hard question to answer. Vlad had a historic level post season which may have boosted his value a bit if he's figured out his launch angle issues at the plate. At any rate I'm glad Vlad is a long term Blue Jay even at this overpay vs seeing him leave for another team as this current window largely revolves around his presence in the lineup.

After the post season he just had, I think he would have done well, but tough to say given what the market has looked like so far. Teams aren't spending big on the existing FA's, but I think Vlad at age 26 would have been valued differently.

This is from a Nightengale article. Sounds like a lot would need to be worked out to make it happen.

”Two Phillies executives cautioned that signing Bichette remains a long-shot, insisting it would be complicated and involve significant roster changes, but that it’s certainly possible.

The Phillies would have to cut off negotiations with Realmuto, trade third baseman Alec Bohm and his $10.2 million salary, find a team who would take right fielder Nick Castellanos and pay at least a small portion of his $20 million salary, and perhaps move others as well.”

I thought it was a strech he would reach 200 million. Going to 300 million seems insane and unheard of. But it only takes one team I guess.

I really don't think he should be making more than Willy Adames. Especially if he's not a Shortstop. Like his absoulte top end should be close to what Marcus Semien signed. I don't see anything he's done exceptionally to blow those guys contracts out of the water.

Well he's younger than Semien was by like 3 years, and even 1.5 years younger than Adames, so you can keep the AAV the same and add some term

$300m is bonkers but there is nothing outlandish about 8/$200m

The Philly rumors are just a ploy to create a bidding war. It does not look like they are close. I think agents are getting desperate since no one is increasing their offers.

The same about Tucker market, when Dodgers and Mets are supposedly lurking around him. Yeah, for sure Dodgers desperatly need him, so they will agree to pay him 40m annualy + 110 % penality, because exceeding the luxury tax threshold by 60 millions 3 years in a row 😄 Cohen can be stupid, but he probably learned from his mistakes, to give too much money to Lindor and Soto, and overpaid SP like Scherzer and Verlander.

Sure age plays a factor but considering those other 2 guys are premium defenders or atleast were when they signed. And that Bo despite being younger is already regressing in many areas of his game. I don't understand where he even comes up with the demand of $300 million.

I don't really see the market demand for him to get close to that.

It's drawn out and too long for me to follow. It will be decided when we get to spring training
