Jays have been linked to Marte all off-season.  I see a trade for Marte as far more likely than a Bo or Tucker signing.

I don't see why they would give the Dbacks a Kings Ransom for Marte. Especially with his question marks about being a bad teammate and how aggressively they are shopping him despite being signed to a team friendly contract. If he's crying when fans heckle him in Chicago. He's not going to have a good time in New York or Boston.

Boras usually does 2-3 year deals with opt outs. 4/60 makes opt outs seem less likely but who knows.

The reality is there simply isn't as much velo in the NPB. They don't see high velo at anywhere near the same clip batters do in the MLB - so claims "they can't hit high velo" need to be taken with a grain of salt.  I believe I read that Ohtani didn't have a single HR off a pitch 93+ before coming to America and he's doing pretty good.  But it's always a question about how they can/will adjust to high velo.

Apparently he was granted an extra minor league option, so they might end up keeping him if they think he has any upside. Could mean the end of Jimenez who has no clear path to playing time next season.

Interesting - I had no idea. That should make Jimenez the odd man out then. This team just can't roster a fringe guy who's out of options. I think there's a chance they might actually get something for him, beyond the usual cash considerations. He has a chance to be a very useful player to the right team.
