Texas opened the necessary space on the 40-man roster by transferring catcher Danny Jansen and rookie reliever Jose Corniell to the 60-day injured list. The Halos activated Travis d’Arnaud from the 60-day IL just before the start of tonight’s game with the Astros. He’ll pair with Tyler Heineman behind the plate

Yeah O' Hoppe was optioned to Round Rock, for the time being. Heineman will be designated shortly or traded.

Chris Sale just continues to be a beast.  Kudos to him.  I must say I LOVE seeing star players age gracefully.  It's just so fun to see them push back father time.

Sale threw 48.1 innings between 2020 and 2022 and followed it up with a subpar 2023 (for his standards), but he's found that fountain of youth every since - probably solidifying his spot in the HOF.  That's awesome stuff - I hope he has another couple great years in him.

Tigers are promoting Max Clark to the majors.  He hasn't lit up AAA, but he's the #5 prospect in baseball.  Excited to see what he can become.

O'Hoppe is basically a salary dump lol. This trade is really just Silseth who is an okay, run of the mill decent reliever, for the random lottery ticket.

Yeah it seems like they made the Rangers take O'Hoppe in order to get Silseth for basically nothing.

With injuries to both Higashioka and Jansen they don't really have a 3rd Catcher so O'Hoppe with his options is a body to fill that spot for the rest of the year.

Silseth isn't bad as a back of your bullpen type, but he doesn't have any options left so those guys aren't worth very much either.

And then the prospect involved seems like a nobody.

So at first it seemed like an interesting deal but after you dive into it it's kind of a nothing trade.

I think he’s 100 percent going to have to make some off-season adjustments on grips, shapes, and tunneling. He doesn’t go from having some of the best pure stuff the NPB has seen to middling stuff in the MLB. More to unlock for sure.

There's got to be a way to fleece the cheapskate Pirates for Oneil Cruz.

Idk if we need to take Mitch Keller back or something but Cruz is the kind of player with huge power upside that could help fix this lineup.
