Alek Thomas DFA

Ryan Waldschmidt up

Thomas got so much freaking run in Arizona. 5 seasons. 73 wRC+. Doesn't even have elite defensive numbers, just a reputation and some decent ones while younger.

28% of people got this question wrong on Fantrax out of 3668 respondents... lol

A Starting Pitcher allows 3 earned runs through 6 innings, then is pulled immediately after giving up a solo homer to lead off the 7th inning. This pitcher qualifies for a Quality Start.

True or False?

What's your answer?

He did, then he didn't anymore because the game was tied and his manager was old school and wanted to stick with him to see if he could get the SP the W.

You don't see draft picks traded very often.  They can't trade any pick can they?  It must be restricted to conditional picks only?

Bailey is incredible defensively, but he can't hit.  Seems like a good return for the Giants?  Wilkinson has pitched great. He looks like he has a chance doesn't he?

Bailey has an argument for the best defender in baseball

The trade is terrible if you believe in WAR

Yeah, just comp picks. Cleveland had Naylor, Hedges and Fry already that could catch, strange trade.

Naylor isn't as good on D (not even close) and Hedges is somehow an even worse hitter than Bailey

I don't think Fry is really a catcher, the fact that he has any games there this year probably shows how Cleveland saw the position as a bit of a black hole

Great launch angles from the stars of the game, May 10th 2026

Junior Caminero 22 years old - 31 degrees 105.2 mph 404 feet HOMERUN! 11 on the year!

Aaron Judge 34 years old - 26 degrees 104.4 373 feet HOMERUN! (must have had bad spin, still a homerun though) 16 on the year!

Konnor Griffin 20 years old - 110 mph, 21 degrees 412 feet HOMERUN! 3 on the year!

Kyle Schwarber 33 years old - 107.4 mph, 31 degrees 433 feet HOMERUN! 16 on the year

Young stars, old stars, launching the ball and giving their fans a thrill!  Win or lose it's always fun to go to the game and see your favorite player hit one high and deep!

Interesting thing going on

Minnesota last deadline trades Louis Varland and Griffin Jax

Both SP to RP converts with deep arsenals who had become elite RP

Either could have been converted to a SP again, or made into a closer

Toronto has gone the safe route with Varland

Jax is now getting stretched out in Tampa Bay, in season

Toronto will have a model in place for stretching out Varland if they want to...

Scam Shitler is going to win the ROY and CY isn't he

He doesn't qualify for Rookie of the year.

Parker Messick has been nearly as good but you don't hear a thing about him since he doesn't play for the Yankees.

Didn't remember he made so many starts last year!

Messick is just Guardians voodoo, he doesn't throw 101

B Val is not 5th in AL rookie position player WAR

USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reports that the Giants “would love” to unload large contracts for players like Rafael Devers, Jung Hoo Lee, Willy Adames, and Matt Chapman.

The Giants made one big move already, sending Patrick Bailey to the Guardians, and it seems like that could just be one step in a full-on rebuild. All of Jung Hoo Lee ($85 million left on his contract), shortstop Willy Adames ($161 million remaining), first baseman Rafael Devers ($226.5 million remaining), and Matt Chapman ($125 million remaining) are owed plenty of money going forward, so the Giants could have plenty of interesting levers to pull as we get closer to the trade deadline.

None of those contracts are really all that appealing.

Maybe Adames or Chapman, if they get back to being 4-WAR players, but even then, the back end of those deals could get pretty ugly. You’re probably paying for the decline years later.

The Angels could very well end up being early sellers.

Mike Trout would be the dream target, but I still have a hard time seeing them ever actually trading him. As sweet as that would be, it feels more like fantasy than something the Angels would realistically do.

Matt Chapman basically been the same guy he was with the Jays but honestly found him very frustrating to watch. I wouldn't want to be on the hook for $25 million for the next 5 years.
