The Blue Jays are in agreement with free agent reliever Tyler Rogers on a three-year, $37MM contract, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The deal includes an $11MM vesting option for the 2029 season.

Imagine you spend three at bats trying to get adjusted to Yesavage's release point, and then you get Tyler Rogers

Really f*** with them by going to Pete Fairbanks after

Seriously, Rogers 37m or Suarez 45m? Atkins probably tried to sign Suarez at discount, this didn't worked, and in panic he overpaid for Rogers. We f***ing still need a #1 closer, no Swanson replacement

My gut reaction is too many years/dollars but if anyone will benefit from not being able to strike anyone out it will be Rogers with the Jays defense behind him. Hoping for the best.

I hope this works out.  I do like having different angles and stuff, but I have a hard time giving 3 years $39M to a guy who's 35 and throws 82 MPH.

Suarez for $6M more seems like better value/upside.

They probably offered him that. He was pretty adamant he preferred Atlanta.

They tried though Brownie, he preferred Atlanta, so f*ck him.

Next deadline is the only way, no point in talking about it now.

If no other additions are made then let's hope Varland can be that guy.  He has the stuff/makeup for the role.  Hopefully another offseason to refine his game will be whats needed.

I like how this franchise is really buying into the different look philosophy. They value velocity and swing and miss. But know the value of bringing in someone like Rogers who gets very weak contact and ground ball contact while coming from such a extreme unique angle. As someone already posted trying to adjust to Rogers after facing Yesavage will be a massive challenge in itself.

They acquired another sidearm guy earlier today in Lee, was a good depth move.
