It's ridiculous. If they really wanted to stagger the AL and NL they should have gone with no off day between the WC and DS for one of the sides and started their DS on Friday the 3rd. 

The Dodgers had to go through the WC round and they still have been able to shrink their staff to three SP and like, 3 RP.

Do they flip flop which league gets the extra day off each year?  ie, next year, the AL will get the extra day off to stagger the games and thus that little advantage changes from the NL to the AL every other year?

last year the NL did 2 back to back and AL had the extra day.

I was saying this to my wife the other day.  As much as I obviously prefer/love when the dome is open, it is so much more comforting knowing they can close it if the weather sucks.

I can't imagine travelling 2+ hours to a game with my kid, only for the game to get cancelled and having to try and re-schedule the whole trip again.  I actually had this happen when I went to NYC (pre-kids) and we had to drive back and use up our (expensive) tickets about a year later.

Especially in a places like Detroit. I was blown away when the Twins built and outdoor only Stadium after being in a dome forever.
