I heard Rogers was looking forward to the end of the season and playing golf instead of pitching yesterday. So he pitched only 4 innings, The lineup also looked to have the same mentality.

Orioles will lose today and tomorrow.  They have 0 to play for. Same as Rays so it would be atrocious to lose a huge game against a team with nothing to play for.

The only silver lining in that game is they've all been solo shots at least. It's still early and a 3 run game.

1. Jays win, Yankees win: Gausman starts Sunday.

2. Jays lose, Yankees lose: Gausman starts Sunday.

4. Jays win, Yankees lose: Gausman pitches at least a little bit (since his next start would be next Saturday)

I'd be shocked if the Yankees lose today, so looking at either options 1 or 3.

We could win a bullpen game again against the Rays on Sunday for sure, but if we need to rely on an Orioles win to grab the division you can't risk not having Gausman available for the wild card series. I still feel like the Yanks are due for a loss. Today would be ideal.
