Of course nothing is 100% guaranteed, that's why they play the games. But it doesn't take the second coming of Christ, the guy's an ace, possible Cy Young, our hitting looks like garbage and Max Scherzer has been absolutely balls. Doesn't take walking on water see that the odds are not good for tomorrow's game. this offense is bad against any starting pitcher

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Horrible night but honestly sort of one of those games where nothing goes your way More than one liner or hard hit ball down the line that went just foul or was called foul Ump taking two runs from them s*** like that Spanky__99 and Stangstag 2

It doesn't really matter how people react on a message board or in real life, we have no influence over anything that happens on the field tomorrow. The Blue Jays are the ones that need to be productive. Of course anything can happen, but it's fair to be concerned about tomorrow's game and the fact that we could end up tied in the standings by the end of it. If you had $100 to lay down tomorrow would you bet that we finish the day with that one game lead or with the same record as the Yankees? Be honest. Spanky__99 1

By the logic, the most unlikely outcome in this case would be a 2 game lead (Jays win/Yankees lose), so I'm not sure what this is supposed to say. Spanky__99 1

Kind of just have to take it one day at a time. Push comes to shove they still made the playoffs. They will need to play their best Baseball in October to win the World Series regardless of who they play and what route it takes to get there. I want the division title as much as anyone else. But like were in the playoffs. Lets try to remember that and enjoy it a little bit. Growing up I watched this team miss the playoffs every year from 1994-2015. Jays still have a chance to secure the division hopefully it happens. Stangstag 1

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 We still hold the division lead and Fangraphs has us at 75% to win it. The 1-game lead (effectively 2 with the tiebreaker) looks small, but with only 5 games left we’re still in control. This Yankee team gets treated like it's the 1927 version, but they barely slipped past the White Sox tonight. If Chicago can push them, the Orioles can definitely take a game, or even two with Trevor Rogers pitching. The Yankees have made a strong push, but they’re almost out of time. Scenarios: Jays finish 4-1, Yankees can’t catch us Jays finish 3-2, Yankees must go 5-0 Jays finish 2-3, Yankees must go 4-1 Jays finish 1-4, Yankees must go 3-2 Jays finish 0-5, Yankees must go 2-3 Our slump has made this closer than it should be, but still having a 75% chance shows how far ahead we were. Bro people aren't 'dooming' theyre frustrated that we're blowing the division with a week left in the season, We also have s*** matchups rest of season combined with the Yankees having an absolute cake walk schedule. Obviously it isn't over but there are like 4-5 guys in the lineup slumping at same time with Scherzer on the mound doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
