If only the starter schedule would have aligned, we could have had Berrios vs Littell, in a historic battle of the worst starter stuff in MLB history.

Obviously in an ideal scenario France is sitting and Lukes replaces him in the lineup, but with Vlad needing extra days off the field this is the most logical lineup to go with.

And at least France has been cromulent for us, with a 128 wRC+ fueled by a high BABIP and a lot of HBP. Seriously, on the season he has 22 BB to go along with 21 HBP. It's a legitimate on base strategy for him. His BB rate is a rather poor 4.8%, but if you combine it with HBP his BB + HBP rate is an absurd 9.3% on the season.

IKF was a brilliant add for this team because now I'll never question any lineup moving forward as long as IKF is not in it. Literally start anyone except IKF, and I'll be happy.

I don't know which one I would rather see removed. France is a decent enough backup first baseman and has hit reasonably well as a Blue Jay, and IKF adds a bunch of extra defensive versatility but his bat is just awful. Santander has a bit of time at first base in his career so he could potentially backup at first base from time to time if the need were to arise, and IKF is just a bit of a budget/Temu version of Clement so who knows what the correct decision is.

Put Taters in LF once in a while then. There isn't much difference between their defense these days. Or sub in Lukes and move Taters to the bench and Springer at DH.
