There was really no reason to pull him. My guess is the stats told JS to go to a LHP when it got the top of the lineup, and he blindly went with that. Zero feel for the game. And that in itself tells you nothing we didn't already know, this club is formidably a FO/game-planning, analytical club. It's the very reason Gibby left, he didn't want to be a muppet, he wasn't shy in a couple of his excerpts from his book. Toronto isn't the only team that does this by the way, most likely like 20 other clubs at minimum. Stangstag and glory 2

They need to stop with so many mid-inning switches. it's overuse. That said the talent isn't there, you can shuffle bullpen order but it has way less impact than people think. Much like batting order. Stangstag and Spanky__99 2

Can't foresee this collapse the past 4 weeks, no way. Clinch and hope they execute as they did prior to August, it's not out of that realm they turn it around, pen isn't this bad. No f*ckin' way! Yeah end of the day, even if they somehow get the bye to the ALDS they won’t win a series with the bullpen in its current state. Our relievers need to turn it around or homefield advantage and a longer series wont matter at all.

Thats been our problem with Schneider all along. Much of that blame lies with the front office. We’ve seen multiple times (even in big playoff games) that he has zero feel for the game and the “pre-game playbook” is king, yet the front office continues to back him. He should have been fired after the Seattle 8-1 blown game. Bullpen mismanagement and not using JBJ who was literally acquired to be a defensive replacement. Subbing Tapia for Merrifield with a 8-1 lead and JBJ on the bench is an instantly fireable offense IMO but the front office continues to back him. glory 1

Steeljays Verified Member Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 Could sure use Ryan Yarborough right now. This regime has lapsed when making pitching decisions. This has been a recurring issue for the past bunch of years and have not learned from any mistakes. They don't deserve another term regardless this season outcome.
