Range is most of OAA and every other defensive metric

Regardless, the original post remains wrong. Bo is probably below average but he does not have "the worst range of all starting SS in MLB"

OAA definitely has a range component. Open up Bo's baseball savant page and go to the fielding tab and you can find the range values. Bo is presently sitting a -2 runs for range presently. The chart below didn't quite paste properly as I'm still trying to determine how to reliably share these but the non highlighted -2 values denote Bo's range value.

Statcast Fielding Run Value

2020 1 1 1 0 0 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- 217 -- -- --

2023 -2 -2 -2 0 0 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- 1,136 -- -- --
2024 1 1 1 0 0 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- 684 -- -- --
2025 -2 -2 -2 -- 0 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- 849 -- -- --

Thanks for the info, but that's exactly what I referenced in the first post that you responded to. It's just called Statcast Fielding on Fangraphs, which is what I always use.

Tangential arguments aside, my original post remains correct. Metrics, whatever you choose to call them, have his range as average or slightly below.

You need to look a little harder, Fangraphs definitely displays Statcast range values on the player pages.

I know where the statcast range numbers are. I referenced them it in the very first post directed at Gruber, which you quoted and didn't read.

You're misunderstanding something here. We said the same thing, we agree. This doesn't need to be an argument, so let's just move on to discussing baseball instead of semantics. If you keep going then I'll just block you because I don't have time for this kind of stuff.

Thank you for the discussion.

You have mistakenly suggested several times that Statcast range doesn't exist, and that's not true. You then suggested that you only look at Fangraphs Statcast values and incorrectly stated that Fangraphs doesn't display range. It wouldn't kill you to simply admit that you didn't know these statistics were readily available vs trying to save face by making up excuses. Go ahead and block me if you feel the need, I've just been trying to be helpful to bring you up to speed a little bit at what's readily available online for defensive metrics.

You would be incorrect. UZR and statcast have him very slightly below average, not close to being the It's actually JP Crawford by a fairly significant amount.

What a f***ing twit this guy is. I referenced statcast in the first f***ing post and get a string of holier than thou novels about how I don't know where to find it?

Is he always so insufferable? Definitely block list material.

I referenced statcast range in the very first post that you responded to. You won't make any friends by being an insufferable nitwit. Don't bother responding, you're blocked.

Apparently Grant can't handle being told rather gently that he's a little out of date on the advanced defensive metrics. I'm trying not to lose sleep over this but it's going to be really hard.
