At least we had guys in scoring position and had a chance but just could 't get them in. Losing to a team like the A's sucks but just finish the series strong please!! Go Cubs!

Exactly this. Sucks we couldn’t pull further ahead in the standings tonight but it is what it is. Not gonna win every game.

Gausman would be so much better if he had a second kind of fastball. I wonder why he hasn't picked up a two seamer like Bassitt throws.

He brought back a sinker in 2024 as I recall. Didn't throw it a ton but it was there.

Vladdy the worse offender with runners in scoring position.

Has this version of Barger not earned a longer rope to determine whether he can or cannot hit against lefties, considering he's only been at this level for a few months?  Wouldn't it make sense to get these reps now so we can determine come playoff time whether he should sit or not?

To me, its an easy decision when the alternative is giving Jimenez ABs.  Barger has also been great defensively so its not like you're not getting anything from him in the worst case.

This post aged like unrefrigerated milk. Jimenez hit a home run early in the game vs watching Barger most likely struggle, and when Barger faced a left handed reliever later in the game he was completely overmatched. This is likely hard for you to accept but maybe just maybe the Blue Jays front office is simply smarter than you are.

This may also be harder for you to accept but its good to challenge/discuss areas you think a team can improve on a message board.  Doesn't mean I will always be right or wrong but thats what message boards are for...

The last two times you lost your s*** about the team not starting Barger against a lefty starter the replacements had good games in his place. Eventually I'd hope you'd stop bitching about this but that's kind of your thing bitching about things you don't fully understand, so that's likely wishful thinking on my part. If Springer sits for an extra day at the end of a gruelling 16 game in 16 day stretch as a nearly 36 year old player it's bitch bitch moan, when Barger is pulled right before a game starts due to a minor injury you straight up call him a pussy, if a young player in Barger who really struggles against left handed pitching misses 2 PA at the start of the game it's more whining, when the closer has his first bad game in 6 weeks now he absolutely can't close in the post season etc. etc. etc. It's just non stop complaining at every single opportunity and it's honestly kind of exhausting.

And Stephen, Rojas, Stanifer, Watts Brown etc. Further down are promising arms such as King, Barriera, etc.

There's a couple mildly intriguing guys also way way down the pecking order just following for fun

Pat Gallagher, 25, converted to the pen this season and just moved up to NH, where he's striking out 12 per nine, walking 2 per 9. No idea on what he throws though.

I'm also following Nate Garkow, 27, - this guys numbers are just weird. They plucked him out of independent ball a year or two ago. His WHIP in AA this year in his first 10 innings is 0.5, 12.9 K/9, 3.7 BB per 9.

Way too early to call them anything, but... just fun to keep tabs on as guys that might show up on the 40 man one day and get a cup of coffee in the show

I joked about calling Barger a pussy.  We have very different ideas of what "losing my s***" means because while i get irritated, its not even close to how you look in your current post.

Get a grip, its not that serious lol

You’re at least in the top 5 of most annoying posters on this forum.

Well that's subjective. He hasn't made his way to my ignore list, which is ... reaaaaaally long.  There's knowledge there under the surface, just hasn't got to the place yet where he'd rather post that instead of the simplistic and over-the-top rage-baiting.

Well to be perfectly fair the lol at the end of nearly every post makes it impossible to discern whether you are joking or not. Maybe you should add emojis or amusing gifs when you are attempting to make a joke so the rest of us can tell.

Another guy I'm interested in seeing more of at the major league level is Lazaro Estrada. I was really impressed with how he commanded his arsenal. I thought he had the makings of a guy who could be an effective back of the rotation starter.

Agree, he's a viable #5  option for 2026 and beyond
