You can't factor extensions into trades unless they are agreed beforehand.

Yeah, he’s still acquired as a rental. If they extend him then great, but that has nothing to do with the trade itself.

his player option for next year is effectively 12mil since he gets the 4m buyout regardless.

So the question is whether he thinks he can do better than a 1yr/12mil deal, which he almost certainly will.

its a rental trade.

The Yankees and Pirates are in talks on a trade that would send closer David Bednar from Pittsburgh to the Bronx, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

And they probably don’t give up Jones or anything of note watch.

Yankees always seem to get away with not giving up their prized prospects, to the point it seems like collusion at times.

Ben Hess and Everson Pereira for Bednar incoming

The Luis Robert Jr chatter is oddly quiet.

Are the White Sox still pretending he's an elite performer and demanding too much?

He's still murdering lefties and plays good D....

i feel like i'm taking crazy pills with the spencer jones thing, obviously they're just trying to pump his value with these leaks right?

there's just nobody good that makes contact at the rate he does, Chris Carter is probably like a 80th percentile outcome for him. more likely he's just christopher morel or keston hiura.

the yankees are a smart org, there's just no way they can think he's actually this valuable.

He's dropped the strikeout rate to 25% in AAA.

The really scary thing about him is his in zone contact rate which is terrible. There are very few guys that bad who later became stars.

edit: or what sliderguy said

I'd guess the White Sox are asking for too much in trade. Robert is likely a rental as I don't think there is a front office aside from the White Sox who would consider picking up his $20 million option for next season.

Wherever the h*ll you came from and however you found this place... stick around. We need more brains and fewer muppets.

Yankees have always been like this. Cashman loves his prospects

Does Cashman have a 'tree' or does he come from another org?

i always feel like its easier to make deals when you know there are orgs out there who value things similarily.

Us and cleveland (and maybe oakland), tampa, dodgers, milwaukee..

I would argue if they did he would be up during this Judge IL stint wouldn't he?

In a clip I saw online, Morosi said Alcantara and Suarez with a heavy Hispanic accent, but then said Cabrera in the whitest way possible. He confused himself.

The Tiger's budget pitching infusion is kind of funny. The No Frills trade deadline trip.

  • Acquired Codi Heuer (in the minors right now?) for cash
  • Acquired Kyle Finnegan (4+ ERA and xFIP) for Josh Randall and RJ Sales
  • Acquired Paul Sewald (IL)(4+ ERA and xFIP) for cash/PTBNL
  • Acquired Rafael Montero (negative WAR) for Jim Jarvis
  • Acquired Chris Paddack and Randy Dobnak for some guy

Talk about throwing s*** at the wall

Which difference making RP's are still out there? Jax and maybe Suarez if he's even available. Not sure who else.

The Yankees believing that Spencer Jones is the second most valuable asset in baseball actually explains a lot about the current state of that franchise
