What would it take to get 2.5 years of Duran? Does Nimalla and Jimmy King get it done or would the Twins want pretty much MLB ready types? Yesavage and Roden/Loperfido maybe? I'm just spit balling..

Its hard to guage what theTwins want, especially now since the team is up for sale.

imo that's way too much for any reliever.

I wonder if the Jays would be interested in trying to get both in a package deal. Based on this past winter, if there's one thing Atkins loves more than a hitter with Kwan's profile, it's saving the Guardians money, so that would be a chance to kill two birds with one stone. Of course they'd have to be sure Bieber is healthy and looking like a real possibility to contribute in Aug-Oct.

The Angels buying is interesting

Makes the last WC spot that much more competitive

Did not expect to see Carlos Correa's name show up in talks. Still lots of $$ left on that.

Ke-Bryan Hayes to the Reds

The Reds infield glut we were all talking about in the offseason didn't exactly pan out

Giants have decided to sell then. Jays started their beatdown into seller-ship. They've got some really good pen arms there too

Looks like the rental market for relievers will be expensive. Jumping early on Dominguez might end up looking shrewd. I suspect the cost for Helsley will be higher than originally thought.

That's a real steep price for 10-15 appearances and the playoffs. He is exceptionally hard to square up though.

He's a weird one... lowest fastball velo in the game, yet nobody can square him up and he's like what... 70% GB rate? Like nearly everything is on the ground and its almost always weak contact. That deceptive delivery pays his bills for sure.

This is WAY more than the Jays paid for Seranthony, if anyone was wondering.

Tidwell alone might be > Watts-Brown.

Taylor Rogers goes to the Pirates as salary relief in the Hayes trade.

He's having a decent season, but is not worth 12 million. If wonder if there's something we can do there with Chad Green, who is making 10.5 million. It wouldn't hurt to have another veteran lefty in the 'pen.

getting 6 years of tidwell (who has the stuff to at least be an up-and-down AAAA guy & if the command pops, he could be your 3/4 starter) for a rental reliever is already great work by the giants. to get butto AND gilbert on top of that is highway robbery, even if they're considered arrow-down guys by the mets.

let's hope the mets didn't just reset the reliever market, b/c otherwise the price for everyone remaining just went WAY up

I can see why someone would disagree, but I think that Rogers is clearly better than Dominguez.

Yes he probably is but he's not that much better

That trade return is an order of magnitude greater

It's at least partially fueled by BABIP, but Joey Loperfido has made across the board improvements in his underlying hitting stats and is now hitting almost .400 with a wRC+ of almost 200.

It would hurt to see him go, but you have to think that some teams in need of outfielders (Guardians, Pirates, White Sox) are taking notice.

Joey for Kwan

no brainer for both teams

Jokes aside, he seems like a player they would ask for as part of a Kwan trade, given their lack of depth.

Can really take their pick - one of Loperfido, Schreck, Roden... plus some sweetener

The one i don't want is bednar. Give me a rental instead.

Some of you have the dumbest takes,

Bednar has been one of the best relievers in baseball for 2 straight months now. I'm talking completely wipeout dominant: 1 ER, 11.19 K/9, 1.93 BB/9, 0.39 ERA, 1.38 FIP.

Apart from last season, he has been an elite reliever in 4 of the last 5 seasons...including right now at this very moment.

May I ask why? It's not as if they regularly fleece teams.
