The past few games the SP have gone 2.1, 4, 5, 5 and 4 IP.

This is not the result of overhanging, its the result of the SPs being pretty bad all in a row

Schneider will take pitchers out after 8 pitches because an inning is finished but will let Yimi go 30+ pitches in his first appearance off the IL.

May as well in this case.

Other options would been Bruihl(not really an option...), or Hoffman going for a 1.2 IP save. 

Actually no, yimi had to face Judge as his 3rd hitter. Only other option then would be a 2 inning save from Hoffman, or putting in Hoff for the 8th and Yimi for the 9th. Kinda doubt that would be the plan
