You promised that Gimenez was going to hit better.

You lied.

He's been bad at the plate no doubt, but there's also no question that he's suffering from some pretty brutal batted ball luck. He has a .212 BABIP and underperforming his xwOBA by 60 points. For reference, Varsho and Bichette have wOBAs of .320 and .322 respectively, which correspond to wRC+ of 107 and 109. Gimenez's xwOBA is .317, he would probably be close to Ernie Clement's value if he wasn't having brutal luck.

Winning this series would guarantee the season-series for Toronto over Boston

Sure would be nice to do that and then make up ground in the 4 game set against NYY to follow

10 games left against NYY this year
7 against TBH (all in September)

It is time for serious baseball

Yeah I was looking at statcast page the other day, and it was basically identical to previous years, so he's really not doing anything different.

I love these non-sequitur posts from my fan club.

I also promised Springer would hit better, Kirk would hit better, last year I said Vlad would hit better, etc.

You had also buried the team in April while I still maintained that the playoffs would be easy to make and here we are. I still haven't heard an apology from you yet, just more attacks.

As for Gimenez, I know you've got the patience of my 3 year old nephew but I still think he'll get it going. He's underperforming his xBA by nearly 70 points, mostly because of a .212 BABIP. He's not going to light the world on fire but he can be a fine bottom of the order guy.

Vladdy not in the lineup tonight. Any word on the status of his injury? I know Xrays were negative, hopefully this is just and extra days rest scenario and nothing serious.

I really just wrote that to tease you. But I appreciate the thorough response🙂

I figured he'd be out of the lineup regardless, clearly it really stung him and they want to give him a day or two.

At least I hope that's all it is.

There is no "teasing" on this site and the second someone tries me they get obliterated whether it was "teasing" or not.

The second I log in here I am 100 percent balls to the wall until the second I close it.

That's a pretty Fugly lineup. But Boston sucks so we should be fine.

We need Varsho back. One of Clase or Roden is fine but both of them kills the bottom of the order.

Obliterated?

Ha.

You have conveniently forgotten your terribly wrong takes. Anybody could list their lottery wins.

Your head is very large at the moment, but I'm fine with that, because your head is only large when the Jays are doing well, and I will gladly trade your inflated head for Blue Jays success.

So keep on floating blimpy!

Go Jays!

Bury this piece of s*** team. I have my broom ready.

that's gonna be tough, dont forget that Jays lost to the white sox. There is no greater danger than underestimating your opponent.

Well the ugly Sox are in a weakened state and we don't have to face the big ace, but it's baseball, the truth is nobody f***ing knows. You win the ones you expect to lose and you lose the ones you expect to win sometimes.

We're in a better position than we've been in a few weeks, my hope is that a complete 5 man rotation for the moment will subdue some of the hemorrhaging we've been seeing from the bullpen recently

Well except for Green, he just plain sucks at this point.

So true, there are a lot of trade rumors, but I was wondering if it is possible to rent someone

I always wondered if it would be possible for one of the major sports League to allow players to be loaned. Sort of like they do in soccer. I don't think it's ever done within the same league in soccer but what if teams outside of a playoff spot can loan a star under contract beyond the current season for the rest of the season and get something back in return and then get the star player back at the end of the season to resume the contract?

Obviously there would be risk involved in allowing a player under contract to play extra games for another team especially in the postseason but you are getting something in return. I know it's pie in the sky thinking, this will never happen but I wonder what that would look like.

Yeah I know that's what you meant, I went off on a tangent, but it's just something that's kicked around in my mind for a few years that I've always wondered about.

Vlad took some hacks in the cage and told the boys he's good to go. So now he's BACK in the lineup, hitting 3rd tonight.

Well that’s a nice surprise. That doesn’t happen often. Usually the lineup only gets worse.
