Orioles (Kremer) vs Blue Jays (Scherzer): 3/29/25, 3:07pm

Well let's be honest, coming into the season I think everybody was aware that the bullpen, particularly the middle relief, was highly suspect. We also all are aware that Max Scherzer is old.

So nothing that happened today would be in the category of shocking. Just got to hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come and both those parts of our team will surprise going forward.

Basically the gist of it, agreed.

I don't know what's worse: this loss, or the whining about losing replacement-level shitballer Ryan Yarbrough

When "replacement level shitballer" is a massive upgrade over the turd Lovelady, it makes all the sense in the world lol

The 41-year-old Latisimus Dorsi  disadvantage. Story as old as time. Guys, I’m just gonna go ahead and take responsibility for this loss. Should’ve known better than coming back and posting after 10 years.

That's not true though. We're talking about two guys that no team should actually want to roster. Every team will cycle through a dozen Yarbroughs and Dick Loveladys this year.

That's exactly what people are saying that this team actually need to roster a guy like Yarborough because the alternatives are pathetic.  Just because Yarborough isn't a CY young contender doesn't mean he isn't an upgrade on this team.

There was no reason to think he's better than someone like Lovelady though. We're talking about fungible replacement-level arms. Yarbrough is terrible, and throws 86 so he's always going to be terrible. Lovelady is terrible, but the team might think he has a chance to not be terrible because they see something in his sinker/slider combo. If they're wrong and he stays terrible, he'll be cast aside and the next gas can with an interesting pitch mix will get called up.

The bullpen is atrocious, but it wouldn't be any better if 34-year old Ryan Yarbrough were here chucking 86-mph slop.

s*** ballers in your bullpen should be used when you're losing by a ton or winning by a ton.  There was no reason to roll those 2 s*** ballers out in a game where you up 2.  You go straight to your long man.  Rodriguez should have came in and pitched 3.  You want him stretched out so if Max can't make his next start it's an option.  If they do consider him in 5 days he won't be available outside of maybe tomorrow.

They shouldn't have sat Springer in game 3.  I'm so sick of Schneider.  I said multiple times last year the Jays should be engaging with Francona.  Everyone said he wasn't close to coming back to managing and he likely never would, but he did come back and the Reds got him.  Schneider is a terrible manager.  We need a real manager.

Sitting Springer is the best move this team has made in a while.  Not sure why you are complaining about that?

You get better D from Straw and better hitting from the rooks/youngsters..

Sitting Springer sounds great if you actually have someone better than him ready to go.  Davis Schneider and Straw are NOT those people lol.

Yeah end of the day, it won’t result in any notable difference

When a “once in a while/ not my regular day job” poster like me made a comment a few days ago, critical of the idiot Ross Atkins who thinks he is the most brightest bloke in the room for trading a inning eater Yarbrough who may just in case be a better replacement  in case one of the trio HIGH Mileage guys in Gausman/ Bass/ and most especially Scherzer goes down because of a likely injury this season, Atkins defenders and the geniuses of this forum got out of their respective holes sang in unison hurling insults because they thought, I acted like a troll and they got slighted because anything negative against the grain opinion was nothing but noise.

Typical like when same people defended the Varsho deal.
