This team really needed a long man so cutting Yarbrough never made any sense. Yariel Rodriguez is way too much of an unknown to be counted on. He was also very bad in Spring.

I'm assuming Lovelady and Barnes made the team precisely so they could be DFA'd, but the actual concept of the team losing games because they used them never occurred to the front office. Not having a real long man when they knew Scherzer was a ticking time bomb (Yarbrough or someone else) was ridiculous. I assumed it would be Yariel but he was used in a blowout on Opening night when he should have been saved for today. Just completely frustrating all the way around.

I literally said that having a guy like yarborough is extra important at the start of the year when you need reliable guys to eat innings.

I don’t know what really happened to Yarbrough. I just don’t believe the Jays would have chosen to cut him over his alternatives. Seems more likely he found out the Yankees wanted him and requested to end up there. I don’t really think they just cut him. Something else happened. It was weird nobody gave him an MLB deal in the first place.
