Horrible wind aided HR off Gausman. It looked like a shallow fly ball off the bat.

Mason Fluharty has been a real story in camp. Another strikeout and soft contact groundout to bring his K:BB to 9/1 in 6 IP (3 HBP though). Lefties and righties both are having uncomfortable ABs against him.

I recall that Nunez hit a ball at approximately 117 MPH off of the bat earlier in the spring. It was on the ground but I fully agree that there is some really high end power potential in his bat.

Well my post was about a pre-existing issue before we signed him? I've never heard about this thumb nerve issue and grip sh*t in my life? Everyone knows he's battled some health issues recently.

I would say a ligament issue in his thumb is a lot more serious than just :"everything is sore because of old age"

It sounds like like it only gets bad after 50 pitches  or so he says. Wonder if there is somewhat of a hybrid relief role that can be had. Better that than having him have surgery and miss the season,

Apparently he thinks his thumb pain was a precursor to his shoulder and triceps injuries in 2024 and 2023. 

Who knows if true or not. Could be a kinetic chain thing, or he could just be old. 

There is 2024 reporting on his thumb. It basically says his rehab from his back injury was slowed by a thumb problem. Spanky is Patrick Starfish, confirmed. 

I don't recall seeing anything specific about his thumb ligament?
