Either way, if anyone has a problem with literally any poster, my door is open.

Starting fights on forums is what destroys them over time. Feuds start, rifts grow as a handful of posters declare war on one another, and everyone else leaves because it gets in the way of actual conversation.

Calling a person a name never improves the situation. It changes nothing for the better.

It doesn't matter where we go on the internet we always have to ignore baseless for clicks rumours. So I don't see why it would be any different here. Just choose the topics you wish to engage in and ignore the others.

Honestly, the rumors sections are one of the most controversial parts of the sites, which is why I'm open to treating them differently on each site.

Some people *really* like rumors; it's a form of wishcasting and dreaming on fun stuff. Some people absolutely DESPISE rumors.

In the long run, rumors are really good for the site gaining traction with google and social media, which brings in new users.

So it's a matter of finding ways to incorporate them in the least obnoxious way possible for all involved.

See, I understand. You need to be a regular for this fiasco, you see the slop after your post on a head's up, the root is deeper. I talk ball, all the time, nearly everyday. I am not a problem. He said s*** personally man, what's worst? Being dumn at baseball talk,  doesn't make you a drunk whatever the f*** he said, it's not the same.

We're gonna have some work to do here, I knew that coming in. I was immediately told there are some serious grudges to work past. Some really s***** things have been said, I've seen some of them. I'm sure there's a lot more.

If I have to cut down on name-calling and wildly inappropriate s*** like calling people "drunks" by giving people vacations, I will do that. All I ask is don't be part of the problem by name-calling back. Let them hang themselves with their own rope.

I appreciate the honesty regarding traffic/users.  I'm sure we all want to keep the conversation active and lively here, especially when the off-season moves at the same pace as the lineup at the passport office. 

Perhaps the happy medium is posting higher 'quality' rumors if there IS such a thing from more reputable sources.  That way we're not seeing a bunch of random twitter rumors from emoboy85 that carry no weight and are essentially click spam.

I agree on that threshold, it's basically my goal. Most of the time, I stick to reports from established beat writers and work upward from there. I try to think of it through the lens of "would MLBTR post this?"

In the case of this particular rumor, they also posted it.

Fair enough... hence the clowns at me on NYE, I don;t mind a 24 hour shutdown, hope they did too, but  my sister's friend was tripping all over me for 2 days, it was a slice.

LOL when did I ever say I was an ex player?  I said ive played baseball throughout my childhood, thats all.   I've only been banned once because of an instance exactly like this where you pick fights with people but the mods always chose you over everyone else.  

And you clearly started with the name calling first but then started crying when someone responds.  Brock will see over time with your actions as it's always YOU who gets into it with EVERYONE so I don't need to expand on this further.  Just give it another few days lol.

Please don't let him fool you with his innocent act here.  Please take a look at who was name calling who when all I did was create a thread to encourage some conversation on a message board. 

There's a long list of folks who have fullout said they've left the forum because of him and you'll soon see why when it's always him getting into conflicts with everyone else.

I seem to recall several "new threads" being merged and moved into other existing threads where they belonged to avoid clutter.

This is just a lot different than the other board.  If this is what people want then whatever, but nobody should be surprised that people are speaking up and questioning this new approach.

He's battled injuries.  Depends on his health, and fitness.  He's still in his prime
