Griffin Canning is actually having a decent season. WTF? Already at 0.7 WAR and 3.39 FIP through 7 starts.

I was tarred and feathered during the offseason by some suggesting him as a back-end rotation option.

Remind me to buy stock in tar companies and feather companies.

Apparently there's a lot of tarring and feathering going on here daily.

If I'm not mistaken, that was brought up in like the early offseason, Nov/Dec... Jays signed Scherzer, bro.

Bud Black got fired too?

Come on.  The Rockies and Pirates aren't underperforming because of the managers

It's crazy that Kirk and Moreno are the same person

They really are

2025 so far:

Moreno: .240/.315/.300    wRC+ 77   1 HR  1 SB    0.8 fWAR (all from defense obviously)

Kirk: .286/.312/.370   wRC+ 93    2 HR   still waiting on first career SB LOL   0.8 fWAR

They're both defense first catchers even though both showed signs/flashes of better offense early on in their careers

The day Kirk steals a base I'm calling the DBacks trade a clear win

Until then it's just about even for both sides

I knew Judge was on a massive heater, but I just realized has at 3.9 fWAR. It's May 13th.

We're witnessing an all-time great people.  Simply incredible.  It's insane to think he didn't play a full season until he was 25.

New pitch alert.  I love this kinda stuff...

Seelinger has been pretty darn good in the minors the past 2 years and might get his shot soon.

I was amazed that there wasn't more heated competition for his services when he reached free agency. I don't know how long he's going to be able to keep up this type of production but he's continued to get better at the plate in his 30's.

Back in 2019 I said Judge looks like a future HOF player and I was tarred and feathered for it, not to mention mercilessly attacked. 😜

Cool beans, that's the same way I gripped my knuckle curve back in the day, but never thought about placing my last two fingers on the seam, that's really cool, thanks for sharing.

Not sure why this gets announced already but Paul Skenes has announced he'll pitch in the WBC next year

Would be nice to see that push the trend of even more star players participating, especially pitchers

The Bichette brothers announced they'll be playing for Brazil. They announce this stuff early to get commitments to their team.

If you owe shares in Paul Skenes, sell before.

Think Mark DeRosa will abuse him? :)

Or it's just kind of early in the season for him to be throwing 100+ mph...

They should do the WBC in the middle of July and make the All-Star Break two weeks.

Do something similar to like the NHL 4 Nations. You can base the teams by region e.g. (North America, Latin Caribbean, Asia, Europe, South America etc) or just have the best countries compete (US, Japan, Venezuela, Dominican, Mexico, Taiwan etc.) Would have either 4 or 6 teams max. Two weeks would be enough to create a mini-tournament and players/pitchers are already in mid-season form so you'll get even better baseball than you would in March.

As well, most WBC teams just suck and struggle to put out a full roster. We don't need teams like Italy, UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia, etc. competing in the tournament, heck even Canada. Better to go by continents/regions instead or go with the top ranked teams in the World. You'll get better baseball than watching some AAA scrubs pitching for Team Italy or whoever.

Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson have been removed from the permanently ineligible list by MLB. Basically, Manfred announced that anyone who was on the permanently ineligible list who has since passed away, gets removed from the list.

They will now eligible for the Hall of Fame if the various committees deem them worthy.

Finally.

The players committee will put them where they rightfully belong.

I think the Historic Committee has to put them on the ballot first or something, there's so many bloody committees at the HoF it's hard to know which one goes first

My vote against Rose in the Hall is because he's a serial pedophile, not because of gambling. f*** that POS.
