Looking like 2 openers start tomorrow, Brasier followed by Landon Knack and TBD followed by Brandt Hurter, I don't think that's ever happened before has it?

Tigers in 4 - another festivus miracle.

Yankees in 3 - Bats are far better, pitching might steal one, hope I'm wrong but can't see it.

Padres in 5 - can't wait for this battle of likely WS winners, Padres get the edge in pitching.

Phillies in 4 - Mets magic is over.

I hope they all go 5 hames now and I'm wrong on both the Yankees and Phillies, cause f*** the Yankees and Miracle Mets 2.0 can be a cool story.

The Dodgers are so unlikeable. They should fire Dave Roberts just for the whining about Machado

What an inning. Genius move by Machado to block the throwÂ… i guess that isnÂ’t considered interference?? I would have challenged it

What Machado did is legal, and actually quite the heads up move. Unlike the runner's lane when going from the batter's box to first, you don't have to run in any particular straight line to get to second base as Machado did there. The runner's path is only established once an attempt is made to tag him, in that case if he did veer too far off the line then he would be out. You obviously just can't interfere with the thrown ball, i.e. make an obvious attempt to deflect it, that would be deemed interference and he would be out. But what he did was totally legal and a high IQ play.

Yeah - we teach 14 year olds to do the same thing on plays like that (also if they get picked off first base). It's something almost every ball player does now. Only the low IQ players don't.

I disagree. Who the f*** doesn't like Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Teo, KK, Muncy, Edman, etc?

It was Teo that started the barking at Machado - because that ball almost hit an unexpecting Roberts (looks like it hit the top rail) - do we not like Teo now? Machado has been a career bitch in the MLB. I don't get the newfound support for that ****.

The Dodgers are unlikeable because of whine jobs like what Dave Roberts was doing, not because they have good (and some likeable) players. They also get shoved down our throats, but I get that that's just marketing and they're a big market team. Would sure be nice if people talked about Tatis having a historic postseason rather than focusing on the whining though. It's also just fun to dunk on the Dodgers for continually underperforming in the playoffs despite their unlimited resources and coverage, much like the Yankees. Ohtani is great and all, but the Dodgers just having him fall on their lap for a joke contract is something that still rubs people the wrong way.

Nah Roberts has always been a dweebie. Agree the players are fine, its more Roberts and the self-entitled fanbase.

Tigers are starting Keider Montero in Game 3. It's insane how little depth and talent some of these playoff teams have. The playoffs are a total crapshoot.

Also the constant Ohtani glazing is at peak levels of ridiculousness.

That giant Ohtani graphic that pops up every couple innings is egregiously annoying.

Tigers are a joke team and I don't want them to advance. Glad they knocked out the Astros but their little run should end here.

OK that's fair, I don't like Roberts much - but I also don't give a s*** about managers in general. The team is f***ing packed with likeable players though. I guess people are no longer jaded about PED users anymore? Is it like the NFL now where nobody cares that you're cheating?

Watching the Padres team and their fans is making me root for them to come out of the NL. Would be fine with a Yankees/Padres World Series. I have no interest seeing an AL Central team play for any longer than necessary.

I can get on board with that. Those AL Central teams f***ing blow. I'm actually cool with the Yanks v. anyone who's left in the NL and I want the NL team to beat the Yanks in the finals.

f*** - I don't think I could stomach Bassitt starting a game in the playoffs for the Jays. If this somehow works for the Tigers, I hope people aren't going to applaud the Tigers GM for all the great depth and decision making he's made. Bullpen days and negative WAR starters in the playoffs is pretty crazy.

To be honest, I don't think there's as much gap in the AL Central teams as one would think, compared to the remaining other playoff teams. Most teams follow a formula of 1-2 superstars, a couple of other good guys, and then average options to fill out the roster with a good bullpen.

Yankees: Judge + Soto (superstars+) - Cole would be included but he missed half the season and hasn't been that good, Wells + Volpe (good supporting players), everyone else, good bullpen (Weaver, Holmes)

Tigers: Skubal (superstar, top 2 pitcher in the league), Greene (low end star), Vierling + Carpenter + Meadows (good supporting players), everyone else, good bullpen (Vest, Brieske, Holton, Foley?)

Guardians: JRam (superstar), Kwan (low end star), Gimenez + Josh Naylor + Tanner Bibee (good supporting cast), everyone else, filthy bullpen (Clase++, Cade Smith++, Hunter Gaddis, Tim Herrin)

Royals: Witt Jr (superstar+) + Ragans + Lugo, Salvador Perez + Wacha + Brady Singer? (good supporting players), everyone else, decent bullpen with two good arms (Erceg + Bubic)

The Yankees have two absolutely incredible bats, but the rest of their team kinda blows. I don’t think they’re any more “deserving” of representing the AL in the World Series than like, Cleveland or Kansas City.

Even the NL has one such team. The Mets kind of blow but they have Lindor who's awesome surrounded by a cast of average to good but not great players. The Dodgers, Padres and Phillies are all powerhouse teams, and the Dodgers don't even have any healthy pitching so they live and die by their offense.

I was confused about who you were talking about until i remembered Tatis got popped

What was he supposed to do tho, not take his ringworm meds?? smh

Bassitt aint even in the same realm as some of these shitballers getting starts for these playoff teams. 2+ WAR and a low 4s ERA is perfectly acceptable to get a playoff start IMO

Hell no to the Yankees in the World Series.

If ISIS had a baseball team I'd be cheering for them over the Yanks.

We should all be rooting for the Royals as disgusting as that might feel. The subsequent meltdown will be glorious.

100%

I hate to say this, but this was a missed opportunity by the Jays. The AL teams f***ing blow this year and a World Series appearance was ripe for the taking. If we rolled in with our 2021 or 2022 team this year - there's a good chance we're looking at a trip to the World Series (acknowledging the playoffs are a crapshoot).
