he had such a s***** spring, he's a completely different player. Starter for me too in 2025 (including vs lefties)

How did he hit lefties in the minors? Even during this excellent season, he's been god awful v. LHP (60 wRC+). He certainly looks like he's a platoon bat.

yea that's a bad number, I don't know he just looks decent vs lefties - at least in the games I watched. Are the splits available for the minors?

2024: .250/.346/.295 (.641 OPS), 130 PA (AAA)

2024: .193/.266/.246 (.511 OPS), 64 PA (MLB)

2023: .258/.350/.342 (.691 OPS), 143 PA

2022: .223/.308/.372 (.681 OPS), 107 PA

 

Unless he makes some adjustments, looks like he's a platoon bat.

Yeah it sort of looks that way but with only 300 AB's he still has time to develop into something.

Yeah definitely some conditioning work to be done in the offseason to prepare for at least a 130 IP starter's load. Since the no-no bid he's pretty much been running on fumes, decent quality pitches still but the reduced velo makes his error margin a lot higher, can't get away with as much. Have to imagine the back and forth between the rotation, long and medium length relief, has f***ed with his conditioning a bit as well. Maybe a more consistent load - ideally as a starter - shouldn't see this come up as clearly.
