Absolutely. Two of those base runners were Jansen's fault. He's so bad at pitch framing he turned strikeouts into walks.

 

He's also terrible at pitch sequencing and trying to throw runners out... usually throwing too high instead of down at shoetop level where the tag should be.

 

I'll give him credit for improving his blocking this year, but many of those blocks were on pitches he should have caught in the first place.

 

His terrible defense might not seem so bad if he was a good hitter. He's not though. He seems to be incompetent at guiding the ball through the hole into right field. He treats every at bat as a home run derby. The result is usually a strikeout or a pop fly to left field. He then has the audacity to try to claim that he's "playing to his strength". What a crock.

 

Hopefully he's gone soon. The trouble is that nobody will offer anything of value for a scrub like him.

That's nonsense. One of the pitches being called a ball was the instance of Gausman missing his spot by the entire width of the plate and Jansen had to reach to catch it, that's not Jansen's fault. Another one was a very borderline pitch that was basically a 50/50 call at best.

This is a bad organization. Sit Kirk so he doesn't get enough at bats to work his way out of slow start... look back on it 3 years from now when Kirk is 4 WAR for Milwaukee or someone and it will be obvious in retrospect.

Plenty of guys don't hit anymore like mid 20s Russel Martin and Cody Bellinger and April to June 15 2024 George Springer and they don't hit anymore until they do.

According to 1985 Bill James Kirk is expected to start hitting again at the rate his career major league and minor league numbers suggest because any egghead writing a book from Lawrence Kansas can figure this out playing around with early spread sheet programs on the first release Mac.

 

According to 2024 Advanced exit velocities Kirk is expected to start hitting again because his expected WOBA or whatever is .250 hitter with .375 slugging.

 

According to Blue Jays organization we should sit his obese FAT ass.

It's Justin Turner's fault. Without Justin Turner and with Joc Pederson or even fat-ass Daniel V. it would be very easy

 

If Jansen is hot give Jansen DH at bats against lefties and Kirk too sometimes so they get enough at bats to normalize their stats.
