Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Allowing Kikuchi to pitch into the 7th is BLASPHEMY. Especially with our elite bullpen. I doubt the computer said this was ok
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 it is very strange how they handle Horwitz, Schneider and Clement. It's like they like them until they don't - then they see the bench. KK should not start again - he's been starting quite a bit lately maybe they are showcasing him for a deal. Kinda sad that he's taking away valuable playing time from others They refuse to let the hot bats dictate their lineups and always revert to historical data, which I'm sure they don't even know how to interpret properly. Horowitz needs to be in the lineup every damn game, lefty/righty it doesn't matter. These idiots cant get out of their own way man.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I can't believe Varsho came close to nabbing that! That would have been a catch of the year candidate if he had.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Box of chocolates Big Nate coming in.

Auldphartt Verified Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Jansen blows another one. DFA please.
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Are we at least leading the league in blown saves?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 The bullpen is so effing bad loll. Rather just let our starters go 9 each day. What an embarrassment
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 The bullpen is so effing bad loll. Rather just let our starters go 9 each day. What an embarrassment I think IKF's numbers while pitching are better than 1/2 of our bullpen.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I know the Jays really don't have many options out of the pen. When I saw Trevor Richards coming out of the pen, he looked scared. In my head, I said to myself he doesn't look that confident and is going to blow it. Then Dan Shulman makes the comment on how Richards only save was a 3 inning save in a 14-7 game and how a save in a 1-run game is much different lol. Perfect sequencing haha. Sucks because they could have squeezed out a win. If Richards doesn't hesitate and fields the ball, game over likely. As well, with the winning run on third, you gotta be darn careful that you don't spike that changeup. Wasn't Chad Green available? Just a perfect way to sum up the Jays season.

Chad Green pitched in two consecutive games vs the Mariners but there was an off day in between so who knows?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Chad Green pitched in two consecutive games vs the Mariners but there was an off day in between so who knows? If I recall correctly, Green was a "yellow" pitcher in the 2nd game v. the Mariners and the broadcast team was surprised to see him come into the game. I suspect they wanted to give him a couple of days off after having to use him. He's a good trade piece and these games don't matter, so there's no reason to push Green last night.

True but John Schneider is fighting for his professional life. It may all be a mute point at this stage but not for him. He really needs every win he can get.

He really needs every win he can get. I guess? But I think John gets a daily report that identifies who's available and who's not. Atkins could have an influence on that and through discussions with the HP team, have labelled Green as a "RED" for the day - so John has no choice. I think there's also a possibility they've had internal discussions, acknowledged this is a lost season, told John they won't fire him in-season and have all agreed to adjust how they play the remaining games out.

That sounds about right. Bringing up Jimenez is an indication that they have resigned themselves to some hard truths.
