hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 no Orelvis (send him back down and let the kid play) and no Clement (he's been on fire)
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Author Posted June 19, 2024 oh and Vlady got a new look....
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 have to get KK, Springer, and Turner all in there! have to do it!
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Author Posted June 19, 2024 [Matheson] John Schneider expressed his belief in George Springer, saying that he's "probably a couple days away from getting hot." "I’m not nearly at the point of saying, “You’re going to play three days a week.” George is George. We have confidence he’s going to get it going.” really?? I mean we all hope he gets hot but he looked terrible yesterday completely overmatched
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 We will never see my lineup. Horowitz Schneider Vladdy Bo (obviously hurt) Jansen Varsho Turner Springer IKF/Clement
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 I don't mind Turner playing. He's been good lately. I would be OK with him sitting if it meant we got to see Orelvis take some at bats. Springer and KK on the other hand haven't shown anything all season and should be on the bench more often than not. And yet here they are in the same lineup together. It's madness.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 We are stuck with Springer and his xStats suggest he's not as cooked as he looks. Turner might be in for a good year still. Both should get plenty of days off though. I don't understand KK starting so much. It comes at the expense of Schneider or Horwitz and both of them should be playing everyday (Horwitz can platoon a bit).
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Also, Jansen has been ass for the past month. Kirk has been ass for the past two years but I'd work him in there more. We need his framing with this garbage bullpen of ours. And if they are playing 60/40 or 50/50 then Jansen can be used more often as a replacement for Kirk should the situation call for it (pinch hit or pinch run for him).
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) have to get KK, Springer, and Turner all in there! have to do it! It gives you the best possible defense but at an AWFUL cost in run production Edited June 19, 2024 by G-Snarls

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 I hope at the very least George Springer slides an envelope of cash under JS's office door every night. Cause there is no other rational explanation.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Springer's ab lasted 35 seconds:D Carved up.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Author Posted June 19, 2024 That was a routine ground ball, I think he might end up in RF long term - provided he hits
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Jansen with an 80 wRC+ and .092 ISO in his last 101 plate appearances. He's still pulling the ball and hitting it in the air, so I don't think he's been corrupted yet, but shows how great of a start he had given how he's looked over his last 100 PA.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Author Posted June 19, 2024 KK fielded that perfectly but the throw sailed on him....
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 KK fielded that perfectly but the throw sailed on him.... Error by Barger, steal, then a bad throw by KK. Cost themselves a run there

BCZ Verified Member Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 What’s that you say? Jays can’t score runs against a s***** pitcher? Ok
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I guess the ump just wanted to speed up the inevitable Springer out.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2024 Author Posted June 20, 2024 Barger is a beast on the basepaths.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Man, Vladdy crushed that thing. 110.1 mph at 14 degrees. That would have gone a LONG ways with a little more air.

The issue with Vlad's 5 degree average launch angle is that he is hitting balls from -5 to 15 degrees for the most part so the best you can hope for is a single off the wall. 10 degrees away from being Pujols. 10 degrees is forever.
