Not a Vogelback super fan, but in typical Jays fashion the guy that guys off in a game is sitting the next day. Always seems so odd to me.

Jansen is more a 4/5 hitter

I think the days of certain kinds of hitters are long gone. Just best to worst with some consideration for a guys comfort in different spots.

I mean George Springer was never a prototypical so called lead off hitter. Just was happy to be there so that is where he ended up when Houston put there best hitters 1-4.

No, just getting him as many ab's per game as possible. Someone is waking up in Jaysland.

Long overdue with this lineup. Still preferred Jansen batting 4th but easily prefer this than seeing him bat 7th in this s***** lineup.

Ya it really lacks common sense and shows how robotic this entire management team is. 0 feel for the game and how HUMAN'S work lol.

I wonder how that decision gets made. Is it like a bad computer program that isn't accounting for recency bias enough? There is more than likely so signal in Yesterday's performance. However there is also no harm in weighting yesterday's performance higher, because as soon as Yesterday's performance is bad the guy will sit, and at worst it just results in someone getting rewarded an extra day.

Or is it bad human decision where the 'Turner vet must not sit 2 days' rule over-rides the 'Vogelbech hit big homerun, give him another game' rule.

Like I'd understand if Turner was playing amazing so we had to get his bat back in the lineup but he's been pretty bad lately. Reward the players who do well considering how bad this lineup has been for 1.5 years now.

kind of I guess, and why I suggested batting Vlady led-off - but then again Vlady is alot quicker on the basepaths than Jansen

Just glad they're trying different things

At the end of the day the underperforming guys need to figure something out

Fedde is playing way over his head so far this season

Let's be the ones to knock him down to earth

Turner has a 71 wRC+ against RHP this season, and 98 since the start of 2023. The team has a 26 year old 1B/DH in the minors who is putting up big numbers for the 2nd straight season in AAA and is likely a platoon bat only. This is such a no brainer decision for a team that supposedly wants to build a sustainable contender with waves of prospects coming up, but maybe that doesn’t apply to the Jays anymore. I can’t stand having Vogelbach on this team but he should be platooned with Turner if he’s up here.

100%. They need to balance the future with the present, and there's no time like right now to make some changes and see if they stick. They can do a way better job protecting Turner (like they did with Belt) and they need to give some opportunities to these younger controllable guys.

A Barger/Clement platoon at 3B, Horowitz/Turner platoon at DH, and Martinez at 2B with DS in LF all seem doable to me. Even if it doesn’t turn things around this season, at least you’re getting a look at some players that maybe could contribute cheaply over the next few years. It would involve getting rid of Vogelbach, Biggio, and I guess KK to make it work, so not losing much of anything besides CF defense which Varsho already does well. With this club’s love for vetrins I can’t see them even considering this.

According to Statcast, Jansen and Vladdy are almost the exact same speed on the basepaths.
