Laika Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Did JS manager well today? or get lucky? JS was perfect I guess he could have pinch ran for Kirk when he was standing on 1st but whatever
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 You sure about this? Guerrero was hitting .179 before the last strikeout. Might as well get the pitchers hitting. I just copied it from BBREF right now. Might not be up to date exactly

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Man. I’ve always been a Vlad is going to break back out guy, but it’s starting to look foolish. Obviously he’s not this bad though. If he’s meh all year and then busts out big next year in FA year, he’s a f***ing cuck
The_DH Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Guerrero avg: .172 ops: .590 THAT'S A PITCHER'S NUMBERS!!!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Yeah, those numbers are wrong. My bad/BBREF bad Springer .143/.314/.393 Guerrero .172/.314/.276 Bichette .120/.154/.160

How you get away with it all the time I'll never know. It always starts with you initiating an unprovoked insult at someone. I don't think you can help yourself, troll.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Cause so far this season: Springer .120 /.267/ .360 Edit: Guerrero .172/.314/.276 Bichette .150/ .190/ .200 My f'n God. You can't keep this up and expect to play even 500 ball At least Springer has been hitting the ball fairly well but getting robbed. Vlad and Bo are asleep

harvey16 Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 It's a darn miracle we are .500 right now with how inept this offense has been. I'll be thrilled if we can come out .500 after this first road trip. Win 1 of the next 2 is all I ask. We should honestly be 2-6 right now.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 (edited) Jays rank 25th in wRC+ with a team wRC+ of 76 and 29th in batting average at .176 Yuck yuck yuck Edited April 5, 2024 by G-Snarls

TradeBichette Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 How does Bicehtte only have 2 errors??? I've personally seen at least 4. Are they trying to cover it up like CNN? Also he has 3 hits
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Can we give some love to the Silver Fox Trevor Richards?? Hes been outstanding to start the season and was at his absolute best today. He might be better than ever right now, throwing tons of strikes. His changeup is somehow even better than last season and his location has been deadly. Hes throwing it more than ever before getting close to 75% usage and getting 10 more inches of vertical movement while creating even more of a velo gap by dropping 3mph off it now averaging 78mph. Could be in for a monster year if he stays healthy this year.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 At least Springer has been hitting the ball fairly well but getting robbed. Vlad and Bo are asleep Yes, less worried about Springer. He's taking his walk and definitely had some loud outs. Really not worried about anyone at this point. When everyone is bad, they've probably faced some tough pitching.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Richards was the reliever I was most worried about holding up but he's dialed in. He's like the reliever version of Marco Estrada
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 This team has a lot of heart. 4-4 with the toughest schedule in baseball so far. Pitching and defense wins championships and I love what I’m seeing so far. Go Jays

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Maybe hutning fastballs over the plate that never come, isn't a good team strategy right now

Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Looking at the guys the only two players who I’m really concerned about are Guerrero and Kirk. I also know the sample size this year is noise. Kirk’s walk rate has tanked and his k rate has increased and he has shown no power this season at all. Guerrero has also increased his walk rate but his k rate has also gone way up and again the power is way down and he looks lost at the plate. Bichette was hurt and has a .143 BABIP, Varsho has an increased walk rate but needs to start showing some power, Biggio looks good, IKF is looking fine for what he is, Clement and Schneider need more at bats, Springer is just being BABIPD he has a .095 BABIP with a 20% wall rate to a 14% k rate. He likely will never be peak Springer again but he likely is around a 120 wRC+ bat which is a great bounce back. You can’t say anything negative about Turner right now. The team needs more power and you’ll hope that you get that with Springer, Guerrero, Jansen and Schneider as the season goes on and hopefully Bichette and Varsho are also in that 25+ category. I do think the team needs to find a way to sign Jansen for 4-5 years as I don’t think you can count on Kirk as a catcher starting 4/5 games.

Would like to see more but if he continues pitching like this then big props to him - highly respect veterans like him that are constantly working on improving their game. It's why I have so much respect for Stroman - annoying personality but works as hard as anyone on his game
