L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 I’d run purple and red Raptors throwback inspired jerseys if I’m being honest. Those are some of the greatest jerseys of all time
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 love these 1920s photos of Christie Pits https://spacing.ca/toronto/2015/04/14/illustrated-history-baseball-toronto/ I knew a stripper named Christie Pits once….
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 I really like Seattle’s city connect jersey. I liked their colour scheme but the font was crap, and there wasn’t anything really fresh about it. I thought Arizona could have hit a home run with the “Serpientes” thing, but … name alone is just a good start, the rest was kinda boring. The redesigned logo of Cinci was cool, and their red really popped off the black. But a very basic design overall. Colorado had a great idea with the mountainscape thing, but I thought the colour choice was a bit weird. The Padres went all out, but that variety of colour was more like someone ate a pastel board and threw up on a jersey. They get points for trying though.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Did you just f***ing Compare Salt Lake City To.... Toronto????? Yeah no s*** there was no traffic downtown its f***ing salt lake city buddy Was talking about infrastructure.. If you took the Toronto population and put them there the city's traffic would still be better than Toronto. Add in all the traffic plus the morons who deliver food on bicycles while driving on sidewalks and going through red lights and you have a clusterf*** of a mess.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 The infrastructure in Toronto is just awful. I will never drive downtown and have no intention of ever doing so. Too much congestion, construction, road closures, pedestrians, bicyclists, expensive city parking etc. Not worth it. The Gardiner Expressway is awful. The 401 is always a mess, no matter what part of the day. Driving in this city sucks. Too many roads now have a 50 KM/H limit and some major roads don't even have proper separate left-hand or right-hand turning lanes. Bike lanes are popping up everywhere, taking away a lane of traffic. Buses clog up the roads as well. Even the traffic out in the suburbs is pretty awful during rush hour and the weekends. Mississauga has too many stoplights on busy streets like Dixie and Dundas Street, which are always a mess. This city needs another subway line running east/west, but that will never happen and it's way too expensive now. As well, they need more commuter rail trains that go into the downtown core. Toronto is pretty backwards for what is considered a world-class city.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Whatever they decide on I'm sure there will be rainbow and blue/pink on it somewhere. Lmao I could think of a few other points of interest they could paste on the jersey but I’ll stay quiet
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 Looking at these Spring Training pictures with the new jerseys. They look like a Wish . com version. It reminds of the Seinfeld episode where George changed the Yanks jerseys to cotton and they all shrank.

Looking like 0 reasons to not just buy ripoff jerseys when they're the same quality now
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 So move...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not easy for a lot of people. It kind of sucks how in Canada you can't really move to a warmer climate, basically Vancouver would be the only one and it rains all winter. Meanwhile if you were American and lived in upstate NY nothing stops you from going to California/Nevada/Texas/Florida.

Can live in basically any climate you want.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Yeah the geographical diversity of the US is such a great feature. Can live in basically any climate you want. Spot on! One of the main things I love about the States. The geographical diversity is a huge plus! Every state is unique as well. Someone from New York or New Jersey can easily move down to a warmer climate if they wish or visa versa. You have tropic climates, the mountains, major urban centres, small towns, the desert, places with mild climates all year round etc. Not much choice here in Canada unfortunately.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 So move...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just said it isn't easy lol. US has their own immigration problem right now so not like they are going to welcome Canadians with open arms. Even as a business owner getting a Eb2-Visa I think its called can be a challenge.

I find the US may as well be 50 different countries. Each state is so different with laws, people etc.. Even warmer places like California, Texas and Florida are so different.

This is how I sell the US to the Moroccan chicks. Most are heading to Germany, as the economy is booming and not all the wacky s*** of changing children’s genders. But I’ve been to those European countries and it’s all the same s***. US is like going to another country for cheap, when traveling between regions and states.
