That's an interesting thought. His xERA has been < 4.00 in 3 out of the last 4 seasons. Maybe a team like Seattle (won't do it as they have the pitching depth already), the Dodgers, the f***ing Orioles and their abomination, or the newly pitcher friendly ballpark owners the Toronto Blue Jays, can bring the nice Canadian kid home.

But with a QO attached, how much are any of these teams actually willing to offer him? 3/45?

Good call on Pivetta, I hadn't thought of him as a possible fit for the Jays but he would be a good target. I doubt he breaks the bank and his advanced stats are great.

A's GM says they're keeping Rooker.

Didn't think they'd change their mind since the deadline.

I mean, he's probably better than Pivetta and he's definitely better than Severino...

It's like the Reds knew you were pushing for the Jays to target him and said FU jaysblue - he's ours.

Haha.

His age though and a career bouncing back and forth between the bullpen and the rotation. He's never been a full time starter before.

The Angels are off to a hot start. Jumping the market for a guy with an 84 mph fastball after trading for a statue who will clog up the DH spot.

"You have to have plan A, plan B, plan C, plan D, plan E and plan F,” said Angels GM Perry Minasian. “It's part of the job, right? You better have multiple options. If you're banking on one thing happening, it doesn't always happen like you want it to. So you better have more than one."

If that was his Plan A, just imagine Plan F.

He was just hired by the Giants.

Almost made this exact post. I thought the Soler move was odd given that Trout is going to, ideally, need a lot of time at DH. I don’t even know why you’d guarantee Hendricks a roster spot at this point.

To replace Canning, lol

Didn't Vladdy and Pivetta almost come to blows a couple of seasons ago?

edit: found it,

The Cardinals are really a dogshit organization.

It's been obvious for years and years yet they kept kind of winning in spite of themselves. The weak division helped, but they probably also had a few really good old school scouts or decision makers keeping the org afloat.

But it's over.

The Willson Contreras situation is embarrassing. They sign him and immediately dislike the player. Now they are moving him to 1B full time with three years left on his contract.

Their pitching development and strategy has been atrocious. If they do trade Sonny Gray, that is going to be so ugly.

Weren't a bunch of you all Cards fanboys at one point in time? Haha.

Yeah their organization has looked awful recently. You would think they trade Willson Contreras instead of playing at 1B.

Oh yeah they are probably the 2nd most storied franchise in MLB despite playing in a shithole of a city. One of the great franchises of all time.

It's probably what is leading to their downfall though. Clinging to "the Cardinal way" as the rest of the league evolves.

Still a ballpark I need to check off my list. Might look into going next summer since now they suck. Tickets are probably a lot cheaper than they were 5 to 6 years ago.

Time for Atkins to trade for Nootbaar.

Nootbar + Arenado package deal would make me fell a lot better about the lineup and shouldn’t cost too much (prospect-wise)

Kinda gives us an idea of the market for guys like Adames/Bregman

So Mets moving Vientos to first base I assume with Alonso leaving as a FA?
