burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Sad to see Trout's career go the way of Griffey's. At this point I'm not sure he's even a lock to get to 100 career WAR (at 85 right now). He should probably just move to DH and play LF every now and then to save his legs. Still a great hitter obviously but all these injuries taking a toll.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Kikuchi's first two batters faced as an Astro: Double off the wall to Yandy and then a homer to Dylan Carlson (his first of the season) Yikes. Sorry no take backs Houston.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Kikuchi double hr k k b fly out down 2-0 He has a wicked change-up and slider that he was forced to use after the first 2 batters, looks like the Astros had him use strictly FB's to start....

Looks like they already made an adjustment with his changeup.

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 wtf while reviewing the box score I noticed he struck out 8 in a row
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Yes and then he walked two and got pulled The Full Kikuchi
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Yes and then he walked two and got pulled The Full Kikuchi Typical Yusei. Unhittable when he can find the zone, but when he loses it he can end up walking 4-5 a game.

mellowgold Verified Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Who's the AL MVP right now, Witt or Judge? Soto might hit 10 fWAR this season and come in a distant third. Crazy year.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Author Posted August 3, 2024 Judge. He's leading in virtually every statistical category. FWAR is close enough to be a wash.

I vote Judge. He's produced all 7 of his WAR in the last 3 months and has reached a new level of performance.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Judge easily. Crazy he has 40 homers already with 2 months to go. If he remains healthy this could be a top all-time season for the record books.
