Laika Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Mets lineup still decent Just Lindor and Vientos and JDM sitting, for core bats
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 To you I suppose it's an enigma and just pure randomness as always! What is this supposed to even mean lol
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 To you I suppose it's an enigma and just pure randomness as always! Huh?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Chris Sale is injured which is the only reason why he isn't starting in a must-win game. They used their other starters prior like Fried, Lopez and Morton during their weekend series against the Royals. So I guess if their rotation was lucky in 2024, would you use that same description to describe the Jays rotation in 2023? Just curious. As well, losing an ace like Strider and being able to eventually replace him with Spencer Schwellenbach is quite impressive. Yeah a lot of their other arms like Elder, Winans, Vives and Waldrep didn't work out. Wonder what would happen if the Jays lost Gausman? I'm not interested in this debate. There's no debate. The Braves rotation was incredibly lucky this year. Seek help if you can't see that. You aren't making a lot of sense recently and are getting called out left, right and center man. Regroup for the playoffs please.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Cy Holmes looking good through his first two innings. How deep can he go?
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 It's so weird that the Braves play Orlando Arcia every day
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 It's so weird that the Braves play Orlando Arcia every day 2.4 WAR last season but yeah, they could definitely use an upgrade at SS next season. Do the Braves have a potential package for Bo?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Diamondbacks won 89 games this season you dingleberry lol. Before you start crapping on other teams, how did the Blue Jays do? But I thought none of that mattered if you didn't advance past the wild card round?

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Zaidi out Posey in Very interesting move by the Giants, doing a complete 180 by bringing in Posey a former player and letting go a geek in Zaidi

I don't see Posey working out unless he's a closet nerd or speaks enough nerd and is willing to delegate a lot.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 AA wants to catch the flight to Athens tonight! It's gyro night!!!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 And of course....we have a pitching duel. That's baseball for you.
Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 And of course....we have a pitching duel. That's baseball for you. It was almost predictable. Crafty Lefty in a nothing game for his team against a stressed lineup versus a B line up that doesn't give a damn and is trying just not to get hurt. Still a long way to go but this is hardly shocking.
Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 But I thought none of that mattered if you didn't advance past the wild card round? Which they did last year. Still might this year. The fact of the matter is you were hoping they would absolutely stink this year so you can be a child about it and they didn't and so you're reaching for criticism of a team that doesn't deserve much.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Mets lineup still decent Just Lindor and Vientos and JDM sitting, for core bats Yeah this is where the 40 man roster reduction hurts the Braves. If this was a couple years ago the Mets would’ve thrown out a AAA lineup
Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Hanna Yates...not bad.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Kudos to him. He's shoving so far in the biggest game of his live. Love seeing stuff like that. Yeah career minor leaguer as well who got his first taste of the Show this season. Great story!

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Tim Lincecum hired as pitching coach. That I like...I'm a huge Lincecum fan, they're trying to keep up with LA who have Prior
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 wait what? u messing with me?
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Pete Rose passed away. Put that motherf***er in the HoF three days before yesterday ffs.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Which they did last year. Still might this year. The fact of the matter is you were hoping they would absolutely stink this year so you can be a child about it and they didn't and so you're reaching for criticism of a team that doesn't deserve much. Buddy, you and your pals told me that I was wrong for saying all you have to do is get into the playoffs and anything can happen. You and others tried to walk this ridiculous tightrope where you claimed the D-Bags were some sort of special 84 win team that was built to make the WS and that the Jays weren't built in a way that would allow them to ever advance. Well guess what? The D-Backs continue to prove me right. And so have the Rangers for that matter. Both weren't that good last year but they merely got in and now neither is even in the playoffs. I expect full heartfelt apologies from all of you.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Pete Rose passed away. Put that motherf***er in the HoF three days before yesterday ffs. Damn two sports legends on the same day. Pete Rose and Dikembe Mutombo as well.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 But I thought none of that mattered if you didn't advance past the wild card round? How did the Yankees do this season? Weren't you crapping on them during ST as well, saying they were old and would suck? You're on a roll Term.

Well guess what? The D-Backs continue to prove me right. And so have the Rangers for that matter. Both weren't that good last year but they merely got in and now neither is even in the playoffs. I expect full heartfelt apologies from all of you. I stated last year that I wish the Jays did more at the trade deadline to address the issues in the lineup for the Postseason. Never once criticized their rotation or bullpen last season and even said that's a strength. They definitely were a team that could have went on a run, but without any improvements to the lineup, didn't have my hopes high. I didn't expect that bats to all of a sudden turn around at Game 163 after they struggled heavily over 162 games. As well, nothing wrong in discussing the strengths of the D'Backs roster from last Postseason. Seems like when you talk about the strengths or have any discussion regarding any team, some of you lose it and freak out!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 wait what? u messing with me? Haha would be cool. I could see Posey hiring one of the guys from the World Series years. Would be awesome to see Timmy or Bumgarner as pitching coach. Gotta hire Brandon Belt as 1B coach now as well haha.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 Pete Rose passed away. Put that motherf***er in the HoF three days before yesterday ffs. Well, it was a lifetime ban from baseball so technically the ban is now over. But will he get in? I wouldn't bet on it. Just getting the obvious jokes out of the way early, Ive always fully supported his enshrinement.
