They’ve been smoke and mirrors and still got past Milwaukee, LA, and now Philly. I wouldn’t count them out.

 

Kimbrel blowing those two games in AZ has been the difference.

Best team will always be a subjective. You don't need to be the best team in the league over 162 games. You need to be the best team in the playoffs. So far only Texas has matched them.

3 aces in Pfaadt, Kelly and Gallen. Absolute mashers like Thomas, Perdomo and Marte.

 

They are an elite team

3 outs in the tank PHI. This is going to be fun to watch whatever the outcome. Both series have been excellent.

I'm afraid to say anything good about the D'Backs because I'm feared that I will be attacked by the Term.

 

D'Backs were a streaky team during the season. They were leading the NL West approx. 40% of the way through the 2023 season. I said and other posters even said earlier this season the D'Backs were going to be a fun team to watch.

 

Corbin Carroll wasn't just challenging for NL ROY. He also was in the discussion for NL MVP most of the season. Gallen was in the discussion for NL Cy Young majority of the season. Kelly was a solid No. 2 starter who posted a 3.2 WAR season. Marte had a nice bounce back season posting a 4.2 WAR. Christian Walker hit 33 HR's and posted 3.8 WAR. Perdomo posted a 2.7 WAR season and LGJ hit 24 HR's and posted a 2.1 WAR season. Moreno played better in the second half. They had some nice pieces.

 

D'Backs played the Brewers and Dodgers both at the right time when neither team were at 100% in a short series. D'Backs have got hot at the right time. I don't think anyone expected them to make the World Series, but they've got some nice pieces and with some luck, they've got to this point.
