Did anybody hear on who was responsible for Espinal swinging 3-0 last night?

I listened to JS. The At The Letters podcast was all over Espy swinging 3-0 in that situation. He said “I trust my guys to get a good pitch in that situation and put a good swing on it”. He wasn’t going to throw him under the bus so who knows if he was green lit or went on his own.

JS just said that he didn't pinch run for Kirk because he wasn't the tying run and his spot might come up in the 11th and he wanted his bat there. Just like last night with Schneider?

CLOWN SHOW TOP TO BOTTOM

Absolute clown show. Kirks bat has been a wet noodle all season, if anybody pinch running for him got an at bat nothing would change.

I wanted to keep Kirk, but I assumed we would've gotten a haul for Moreno. Getting only Varsho for Moreno AND Gurriel should be cause for dismissal. Even the Dodgers broadcasting staff were talking about what a fleecing it was.

Ross had the horse blinders on for Varsho and there was nothing stopping him.

An athletic catcher in Moreno with six years of control is more valuable than Varsho on its own, nevermind tossing in Gurriel. Nothing personal against Varsho, I like the way he plays the game but keeping Moreno and Gurriel was the play. Lukes could have factored in the equation by being a LHB to go along with decent defence.

Meh..

John Schneider just said that he didn't consider pinch running for Kirk because they were down by 2, but if they were down by one yes.

What a f***ing loser.

lmao you gotta be kidding me. This guy's a complete dunce.

I'd love to find out for sure.

It's normally on the player - it's baseball situation 101

It actually doesn't even matter. A real MLB manager gives Espinal the take sign there, so I blame JS 100%

Teo has a 1.2 OPS in the last 2 weeks and Mariners are 11-1. Moreno has a lot of underlying stats that project he is going to be really good and we have f***ing Kirk

lol

After the year is over I think we should rank the 10 worst losses of the year. It can be a cathartic and healing experience. This one will be a strong contender for the top spot. Though I have a feeling we've got a few more to come.

Me, with this pitching, me.

Yeah all it would take is two hitters waking up from their slumber (Vlad chief among them) and they are right in the thick of it.

This team doesn’t have it this year. Its like every fringe moment in a game goes wrong, we manage to just fall short time and time again. Just can’t push through.

Gonna get blasted by Texas in a couple weeks and that’ll be the end of the season.

You can bookmark this page. Come back after the Texas series. I don’t think this team has what it takes to go on a run when it matters. They’ve had many chances to rise to the occasion earlier this year and they’ve failed every time. Losing a handful of winnable games this past week is not a good look at all.

Yeah, I won't do that, we can find many reasons for that, that series certainly looms large.

Trust me im as frustrated and angry as anyone here. The team should not be in this spot. Im just trying not to get my hopes up.

Cathartic and healing? More likely it will trigger PTSD.

I hate that fat f*** Kirk. When he got called out I actually laughed watching his dumb fat ass got caught again because he just never learns, instead of not enjoying it because it's against my team. Stay at f***ing 3rd fatty. Edited by deanmike

I had the Biggio dumbass decision to try and steal 3rd on a 3-0 count also in my head as I was typing out the Kirk s***. Mixed up those 2 plays in my head, corrected though.

I love the eternal optimism. I mean that's what sports is all about. Schneider should have pinch ran for Kirk. in the 8th though. They should have found a way to win in the 9th. I've always felt like they were going to make the playoffs all year. After last night, I felt like maybe they weren't. I'm still hanging in there though. What else am I going to do every night at from 5 to 8 local time? Talk to my wife?

He made it by a mile. Kid has 30 stolen bases in his career and has been caught 3 times. He has the ability to read the pitcher and take off when you aren't expecting it. It seemed a bit reckless, but given the player I'll trust Biggio's judgement on the basepaths. He doesn't swipe enough bags for the other team to be overly concerned and yet he has above average speed and instincts on the basepaths.

It was very reckless and Biggio got saved by ball 4 there.
