John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Just gotta get Jackson through the 3rd, and keep on keepin on
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 What’s dumb is whining about something done 4 f***ing years ago like it matters at all to the current team. There 700 different things that might have happened if Stroman was resigned between that and now that could hypothetically change what the current roster even looks like so hindsight whining is beyond stupid. It's a commentary on the shortsightedness of Shapiro's roster construction. He seems to have a real problem with depth. For years it was the bullpen, now it's the rotation. I'm not impressed with the job they've done.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Author Posted June 6, 2023 I was very surprised when the Jays showed no interest in him at all. The guy would have been a great fit and it would have been a grand-slam from a PR point of view. Seems like Shapiro let his personal gripes interfere with the betterment of the team. lol... *face palm*
tossingthiscoin Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Just let Jackson pitches as many as he can. We will not going to win this game anyway.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Author Posted June 6, 2023 Actually was thinking of that game too. Smart,
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 We only have 5 starters in the entire organization or he'd be down already This. It was obvious after the last start he needed to go down. In what world do you try to have a guy struggling build confidence against the Astros…. Well, one where you have zero depth and zero injuries to your SPs…
bronson44 Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Jay Jackson doing work. Good on him.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Give Zack Thompson a start or an opener. I bet he could do better than this…

For years it was the bullpen, now it's the rotation. I'm not impressed with the job they've done. It’s a brainless and lazy commentary to use something from 4 seasons ago mattering to the current roster. It’s just as brainless and lazy to blame all of Manoah’s problems on his weight. But that’s what fans do best, brainless and lazy bitching like they could do better
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 lol... *face palm* I remember at the time A LOT of Jays fans were clamoring for Stroman to be brought back. This isn't some captain hindsight talk. The fit was obvious to pretty much everyone but Shapiro.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Give Zack Thompson a start or an opener. I bet he could do better than this… I wouldn’t bet on that at all, unless tonight was the only bar he had to better than. Thompson has been pure trash so far at AAA

The fit was obvious to pretty much everyone but Shapiro. The same fans were clamouring for Ray to be brought back, and Semien to be brought back. Fans are stupid and want every decision to be perfect. It’s impossible. The f***ing Dodgers traded Yordan Alvarez for Josh Fields. Stupid Dodgers front office why couldn’t they see 6 years in the future and see what happens? Idiots.
AfricanKarl Provisional Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Manoah's been a big game pitcher all his life and usually dominated. He was slapped in the mouth last season's WCG amd hasn't been right since, it makes sense. His psyche is f***ed up. God you are the most biased moron I’ve ever come across in my life. Manoah is absolute trash feces covered zero redemption ass smelling trash. Stop making excuses for him. Does he wack it to the wiener pics you send him on Twitter? Does he send you naked pictures of himself choking on Cheetos? Is that why you love him so much? If you were in front of me I would slap you around for the dumb s*** you say. You make us all look bad.

You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. He signed his contract with the Cubs 1 and a half seasons ago.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Hope Richards can go 2+…wouldn’t be a complete dumpster fire if they get through 6 using only Richards and Jackson
Key22 Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Basically, the Jays can simply use Manoah's start as a BP day with an opener as they have done in the past. With Berrios and Kikuchi and Bassit and Gauseman - even with Manoah the rotation still has a strong 4. Trying to be positive about it. The Jays had White and Tiedemann and Thornton for depth but both they are all hurt. I think you'd have to give Francis a shot at this point - it's hard to be any worse. Check the waiver wire. At this point, if you can find anyone who can throw 5-6 innings of 4-run ball you'd probably take it.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 The reason we're seeing Richards here is that they're lining him up to make the next start in this spot in a BP game.
tossingthiscoin Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 GG. The game's over. Have a good day guys.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Manoah wrecked Richards now too...ugh

Who, he invited himself out the door, and was in the last year of his contract, Jays were retooling, it'd have been stupid to sign him on during that phase. C'mon...
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 This might be a position pitcher night.
