Sign Donaldson 1 year 8 mill - take a run at Bregman next year

Sign Votto 1 year 10 mill- if that fails go after rowdy for like 7-8 million or a 2-3 year deal

Sign Jesse Winker to a 1 year blastoff contract 1 year 6 million-If that fails willi calhoun for 2 million

Trade Bo for Adames + then extend Adames for 6-7 years

Trade Manoah+ Pearson for 1 year of Biebs

Sign IKF for a 1 year 8-10million dollar deal to backup the left side and blanket JD, also can play CF

Add Whit at a decent number like 7 million 1 year

 

Fairly cheap and doable plan imo. Heres what the lineup looks like

I agree that the Jays should take a run at Bregman if the Astros make him available.

 

Bieber is interesting as well since Cleveland always likes to move arms when they're close to free agency.

 

You can't sign both Donaldson and Votto here to get regular AB's haha. I don't mind bringing in one of them in as a veteran presence for one of the last roster spots on the bench. There is no room to roster both of them.

 

Winker isn't a bad target as a bounce back for a LF/DH bat, but Jays would have had to strikeout on a lot of other players in free agency to go that route. Plus, heard about Winkers attitude so not sure he would be a great fit.

 

Would not trade Bo for Adames haha.

 

I doubt Whit is coming back to Toronto. He still likely get's a 1 year deal worth around $10-12M with a club option somewhere to play everyday.

Yeah I think Votto retires if he doesn't get an MLB deal from someone. Donaldson may sign for a minor league deal before spring training if he's left unsigned. Same with Winker due to his injury concerns.

Don't think he's getting any MLB deals, he's been bad for 2 years. That was Votto's agent writing the Jays should give him 10m. He'll be lucky to get a spring training invite at this point.

What happened to the league where .260 avg, .800 OPS, and terrible base-running can still be so valuable at 3b.

 

Players aren't on steroids anymore and advanced training and a better understanding of mechanics has lead to WAY MORE pitchers throwing MUCH harder, which makes hitting a f***ton more difficult. Where have you been?

Well, only the steroid thing is logic, and even that is somewhat murky as it’s debatable how widespread it was. Advanced training should go both ways with hitting and pitching. Probably it’s the ball more than anything
